I lived here almost ten years ago. I was emotionally abused along with the other girls I lived with. The staff would have drama with each other. They would take their anger out on us by intentionally arguing with us because they had a position of power. It’s almost like they felt most powerful when they would push us down so far that we explode with frustration. They constantly manipulated me. They were so nice when I first got there and treated me special until they found out I didn’t have religion, not for lack of wanting it. They just treated me like I was such a “bad” kid. I went to a bible camp once summer and pretended to be saved and acted the exact same as I always did and they had 100% of a change in behavior. I had no family and they surely took advantage of me not having a voice. The supervisor read my paperwork and knew just how to manipulate and play with me. She took me to live in her home. She was a certified foster parent. She then used my history of abuse to continue abusing me. She would ask me personal questions and then belittle me and act like I was wrong for my responses. If I tried to hang out with friends, she would talk down on me and tell me they were probably laughing at me because I was so awkward (Just a single example). She isolated me for three years. I spent most of my life in drug houses and around dangerous situations and could not leave my house. Went to a group home where I was not able to be social. Then went to her house from the age of 14-17, still not allowed to have a social life. I got out of foster care at 18. I’m 21 and I still can’t go grocery shopping without someone going with me. I’m actively in therapy for my long term issues. She told me she reached out to family members that I missed and told me they never opened her messages and must not be interested. I later found them and was told that she told them that I was settling in with her family and they would be detrimental to my mental health by disrupting that. I was always miserable. I had nothing to do but lay in bed because it’s not like I could have a phone or a job. This is the person supervising that girls’ home. If she could do all that to me and the girls I lived with, there’s Mo doubt she continuously does it today. She is a master manipulator with ulterior motives.
