A fantastic community to be a part of! CCH is 100% inclusive, 100% focused on following Jesus and loving our neighbors. The campus ministers are kind, compassionate, and they evidently care about each student that walks through the doors. I've had several experiences with this organization over the years, and more recently hear about their events and culture through friends.

I was and am unimpressed. Welcoming at first, their messages and teaching are divisive in a stereotypical, southern evangelical way. The recurring theme is "our version of Jesus or bust," used to justify conservative political leanings and skepticism of EIU's academic, rational, evidence-based culture. It's messaging antithetical to what modern Christianity should be.

There are several good groups in the area that preach messages of inclusion, acceptance, and community service, like the Newman Catholic Center, that I recommend. For those looking for enlightenment and not evangelical bias confirmation, go elsewhere.
