With utmost respect ~ as certain terms, alongside the elders, pioneers, & related attendees of Cedaredge Kingdom Hall have likely changed in some detail from 2015 – this was not an OK environment. This Congregation has a lot to own up for personally, professionally, with actual fact-based reality, & their self-entitled “truth” they share. In some ways their actions from this local level & extending up to their various headquarters around the globe are covertly libelous, hypocritical, & should be evaluated more closely before anybody should try this church. I happen to have various experiences & testimonies, but I have one in particular to share about regarding one of the better-known men who helped run this place.
My Grandpa’s name was Oscar, & he was a faithful “servant” to this Kingdom Hall & the Jehovah’s Witness organization with his wife JoAnne for more than 50 years. They developed close kinships, as well as various brother- & sisterhoods which I was honored to at least be regarded with. The folks I will cherish my memories of were good company to be around. My grandma passed away a few years earlier before him & the memorial for her was wonderfully held in the Kingdom Hall. Unfortunately, after his wife’s passing, Oscar developed some medical issues to which they were caring about in the beginning, yet later separated from him as my mother (former & disassociated non-JW) had to start taking care of him. In July 2015 he passed away. From that time here she made several efforts to contact the congregation & its associated elders within to arrange a memorial service with them for him. It was during this time that these former “brothers & sisters” turned into heartbreaking former friends as they chose to uphold JW guidelines about associations by choosing to not honor their former friend. We learned a lot of personal behaviors & attitudes about the souls & elders who operated this location which was quite the awkward revelation. After hearing some disconnected & frivolous grade school-esque gossip, they soon after stopped considering Oscar as a Jehovah’s Witness brother after the 50 years he gave them several times a week with utmost passion, personal investment, blood, sweat, & tears. Everyone involved with this location at the time was invited to the funeral that was eventually put together, but no one came from the Hall. This is all because they put this hypocritical guideline with their organization first, which to fact-based reality & feelings is wrong. I know all of them know better.
On a widespread/external level beyond these locations, there are some serious ongoing matters within the JW organization. Armageddon, the role of women, & other related beliefs aside, there is multiple scientific matters within our fact-based reality they routinely fail to correctly answer. These include but not limited to how life came to be, Dinosaurs, human biology. Recently they even took some headlines themselves as it was revealed that there was cover ups regarding cases sexual abuse to both adults as well as children. These incidents were reported to various elders & pioneers some to all of whom chose not to report anything to the police, which is against the law alongside even their own beliefs. This kingdom hall is making moves & financial contributions on their related behalf! In a recent Watchtower publication, they addressed this matter saying that the elders have taken care of this matter as best as they can, & that Jehovah will decide the rest. There wasn’t even a mention of any internal investigation involving authorities either as responsible church establishments would pursue. (THIS IS NOT OKAY EVER.) We can also speak about how they act within too on operational internal side as well – alas though this review limits me to 4000 characters. If you are still reading this review up until now, I thank you for your time & letting me share this experience & for a better regard “the actual truth.” Feel free to message me directly with any feedback I may address. My Best, -T
