My son has been going to Cass for about 2 months now, he's doing very well I believe. I pick him up some weekends too come home and I can see a difference in him. His attitude is improving and he's maturing. He attends Cass for his education, trade career, learn to drive, bible study, etiquette. Etc .... I appreciate this opportunity he's been given and look forward to seeing my son become a Man at Cass.

Cass Job Corps perhaps saved my life. I lied about my age and joined at 15 years old on August 25, 1971. I was a 14 year "dropout" and a 15 year old "Run away." I received my Driver's license, GED and 1000 hours as a Union Carpenter plus Corpsman Leader. Graduated on September 21, 1972, with a job in Jonesboro Ar. My only negative experience was Mr. Webb, the Academic instructor. I started at Level 6 and I couldn't wait to get my GED. This man tried to block my Merit Promotion. Mr. Hunter, Dorm #1 leader came to my rescue. I would late service 20 years in the Marine Corps and 25 years as a Teacher and Elementary School Principal. I credit Job Corps with my success.

The property and grounds are well maintained and the staff were super nice and helpful and my daughter whose in attendance there is having the time of her life not to mention learning a life enriching job trade. Top notch of the 4 job corps sites I've been to and had kids attendance over the years!!

I was a corpman at cass from Aug89 to june90. It left a profound mark on my entire life.. It made me grow up, change the type of friends I chose and put important things first and bs last. I got my GED and drivers license but I was kick out just as I started to take thing serious. The people I hung with were my issue and I was not heading where they were.. I was bay leader in the dorm. I was basketball MVP and regional Allstar. I had my GED and license all i needed was my job ( carpentry) Scored the highest scores on campus in the education department to take the ged test I don't
remeber the name f the test 32 yrs ago) Ended up getting kicked out at the height o f my time there. It's all about you and where your head is when you arrive, being there , and when you leave.

Personally my son was talked into coming to this facility. The intake recruiter got him all excited and then it just went down hill from there. He had two sisters that were expecting and the recruiter assured him and myself that he would be able to leave to be there for their births. When his first sister went into labor we called and he was denied the pass to leave. He has now been there two months and still being told he can’t even get a weekend pass. He’s being told because of Covid but yet they are doing outings and allowing new students into the programs. He doesn’t like anything that he is doing there and feels like he is trapped. I would not recommend this program to anyone.

I didn't have the best of experiences while I was at Cass. But I was not exactly the same person I am now. I was there in May 1991. Yes I know it was still all male then. Like I said, I've changed. But I digress. Mr Hightower was head Administrator then. I was lucky enough to get my GED while there. Thanks for that. Job Corps can offer a great deal, education, profession, and they'll help you further that education and pay you while you learn. So if you are interested in it. Go for it.

I attended from 2011-2012, trade was FM. Milam was an awesome instructor. I originally went in for welding but got converted at the displeasure of the welding students who wanted me in lol

I digress. Cass is a great place to get some lifelong skills. I will not lie, it can be a sad place at times. It's old and they do not shy away from that fact. You're going to have to do things you do not want to do.

They are going to tell you when you are and aren't going to bed. They're going to put other rules on you that don't seem fair. This is okay, they're placing boundaries. If you're coming here you're probably coming from a dysfunctional background and it won't make sense with all the boundaries and rules, but it's conductive to your success.

It's basically free trade school. They also help you get your license and GED or HS Diploma. With all the annoyances and occasional drama it is worth it. You will gain the work experience and trade skills necessary for success. You will gain a strong work ethic. You will create memories and bonds with people that will last a lifetime.

This place is worth it. If you have exhausted what seems to be all other options get signed up for job corps and go to Cass (or any other job corps location)
