I've been on many natural cave tours, this is the first Gold Mine tour.... And it was amazing. Safety is their #1 priority and we never felt worried one bit. The walking is very easy, the mine goes level into the side of the mountain, so that means no steps up or down, just straight level path.(some parts could be muddy so don't wear your newest shoes) The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and we were almost overloaded with her super interesting details on Gold Mining. Can't recommend this Capital Prize Gold Mine tour enough. Great experience and memories.

A great and unique experience! It was informative and fun stop on our way to Breckenridge. Tour guide obviously loved what she did. Going 1,000 feet into the mine really gave a feel for what working in a mine would be like.

Stumbled upon this tour as a referral from a guy near the lake in Georgetown. It was EXCELLENT! Paul was a gave great educational information about mining while keeping it fun. The interactive portions were our favorite. Would definitely recommend this tour.

This was a great experience! Our Tour guide was passionate and energetic about ensuring everyone experienced all of the mines features. Of the things to do in this area, it's probably overlooked as one of the best values. I was nieve to how heavy of an influence gold mining had on forming Colorado and just how difficult and dangerous these jobs were. Since it's still an active mine, it's neat to see the contrast in today's technology vs the past. Great job Capital Prize Gold Mine Staff!

We went on this tour and it was so informative and fun! It's still an active mine so not only did we get a history lesson on the original miners, but how their current operations work. Great for all ages!

I would say a must see if you are in Georgetown. Everyone loved it and the guides were really good. Great for kids and really easy to walk through the mine. Just make sure you bring shoes that could get a bit muddy also a sweater if you get cold easily.

I don't usually leave reviews but this tour was so good I had to. Our tour guide was AMAZING. She was the best tour guide I've ever had, I wish we could bring her to all the cool places we go to give us tours about everything. She was very passionate and knew a bunch of cool stuff about the mine. The staff here is awesome, so nice and welcoming. I would recommend this mine to anybody. Wish I could give it more stars!
