This place was great! I went for the first time with my son's 6th grade class last week. The staff is wonderful and special shout out to Cameron the owl conservationist extraordinaire. He was a great guide and really pleasant no matter what the kids threw at him - LOL.

Acres of beautiful rolling hills, ponds and VIEWS! Super cool staff as well. My kids had a blast and we even got to help plant trees in the areas that were burned. (not so close that it was a negative at all... everything around the cabins is super green)

Our group of teenagers and young adults had an amazing time at Cal-Wood! All the staff were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious, facilities clean and well stocked, and the property is so loved and well maintained! We'll definitely be back.

Thank you Cal-Wood for hosting our group of 40 students! We loved the facilities, the outdoor recreation spaces, the wood-burning stove in the learning center..... it was a cozy and special space for our group that really facilitated group cohesion and robust learning in a comfortable environment. We hosted a retreat at Cal-Wood overnight for our sorority group this spring. While the weather wasn’t on our side with lots of rain, Cal-Wood had so many great indoor and outdoor spaces for our group to use. We were able to take advantage of a local hike recommended by staff, spend time in their recreation area playing field games, & once the rain hit, we moved inside to do some more team-building. Their cabins were perfectly cozy & we would definitely recommend this to any college-aged group! The retreat coordinator was also super easy to work with & was available regularly before our event to ensure we had everything we needed.

Cal-Wood is our environmental ed organization's favorite spot to bring our students to camp. Jamie and Angie are incredibly kind and accommodating and have even helped us out when we've had vehicle trouble in the past! The campsites are beautiful and have convenient privies and warming huts. Our students enjoy having lots of space to roam and the gorgeous views of the nearby mountains. We love working with Cal-Wood!

Cal-Wood was an awesome time for us! Our school brought our top choir, band, and orchestras and put on a three day retreat. The kids loved getting to unplug, team build, get into nature, and work on beautiful music in a beautiful place. They also raved about how good the food was :-). We will definitely be coming back!

We have been holding our annual staff training at Cal-Wood for 15+ years. Our diverse staff come from all over the world and everyone agrees-- Cal-Wood is a special place! It's apparent that Rafael and the Cal-Wood team care deeply for the land, for the facility, and for the people that they welcome. The planning that goes into our training/ retreat is efficient and well-organized, the food is scrumptious, the views are outstanding, and the facilities are in great shape. We feel fortunate that our organization has found a home to come to and be together for a few days each year.
