I moved to Alabaster in 2020 and chose Calera dental for my dental needs because it was close to my house. Since my dental experience resume reads like something from Little Shop of Horrors, I didn’t even research the place. I had previously thought of dentists as all being the same and as necessary evils, so I wasn’t expecting much. What I got from Calera Dental was Dental Topia (Insert singing angels here)!

The staff is courteous and friendly. I am usually greeted and checked out by Emily, who is so quiet and polite as she multi tasks between getting my paperwork together, dealing with the phone, and working on the computer. After I get checked in, my hygienist Mariah, the absolute sweetest, swiftly retrieves me and takes me back. This place is spotless… (and colder than a polar bear’s toenails back there, so ask for a blanket or three- lol . They always give me two blankets, and then I am nice and cozy). Anyway, Mariah is patient and gentle when she cleans my teeth, and I am given several applications of Vaseline around my lips while my teeth are being cleaned. YOU HEARD ME! No, cracked lips or ripped corners in my mouth here! She informs me of the process along the way while entering the data in the computer. After rinsing and leaning back in my chair, I sit and enjoy the view of squirrels, chipmunks, a variety of birds, (and an occasional hummingbird too) from my window, Service with all the details- blankets, Vaseline and a view that you should be charged for. It can’t possibly get any better, right? Oh, but it does!

One of the best things about this place? My dentist! Dr. Rigsby, BABY! When I tell you she is the Nick Saban of Alabama Football in a white lab coat! She is the G, the O, the A, and the T (that’s the GOAT for all of you who are confused)! She has done a few procedures in this mouth of mine over the years, and she and Beth (the hilarious and sweet dental assistant) are the greatest team! I’m talking Hurts and Smith, honey. They inform me step by step what to expect and show me what is going on, on the top of the line, high-tech equipment they have. That equipment is next level, people! I have gotten X-rays, a tooth build-up, a root canal, and a crown (not a temporary, the actual crown) all in the same visit. I have found the pot of gold at the end of the dental rainbow, and it is right there at Calera Dental. This place gets 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, and is all that and a bag of chips.

I have used Calera Dental Center for 20 years. Dr Rigsby is so friendly and knowledgeable and takes time to explain procedures and address concerns. Everyone there is professional and courteous, always smiling. Waiting room
Is clean, spacious and calming. Procedure room is soothing with large window looking out on trees and always active bird feeder. The doctor and assistant work to ensure you are comfortable and check often to make sure you feel comfortable throughout procedures. The dental hygienist is professional, thorough and gentle in her exam. I believe anyone choosing Calera Dental Center will be very pleased with the choice.

I Love Calera Dental. They are all very nice and helpful and knowledgeable. I had a new hygienist this time due to mine being out and they called me that morning to make sure I was aware of the change and ok with it. Dr. Rigsby is my dentist and I can’t say enough about her. She is fantastic!

Emily helped me get in earlier than my scheduled cleaning appointment. Every single person in this office is friendly, positive, and skilled at what they do. The whole tone of the office reflects this excellent level of patient care. Most offices have staff who seem more interested in each other than the patients. Whoever hires staff is to be commended for their choices in selecting high quality staff. The patient experience is always pleasant—I always feel cared about and special.
