I worked at Breakthrough for 3+ years, and I can say this place is the real deal! Arloa always led the ministry with wisdom, humility, and integrity. The staff was awesome to work with and the guests & volunteers I met were amazing. Breakthrough is highly respected by the local community and is always great at advocating for the neighborhood & guests. Yolanda is now leading this ministry well & serving the people every day. I miss this place, and wish nothing but the best for the staff, neighbors, & community!

This organization was wonderful!! Everyone there was so kind to me. I really enjoyed them all. It was a great experience that I feel everyone should get to experience just once. I was one of the volunteers and it wasn't a difficult job I got to help stock and break down boxes. It was a very respectful and get the job done setting. I saw how things worked and all and how many people they helped I hope everyone who volunteers here gets to experience the same joy and love of helping people that I did.

Great place for women who need a hand up.

Two meals a day 5 days a week. Though the food is not great it's something and sometimes they have volunteers.

You can attend support classes and receive resources for housing, mental health, medical and employment. You can even get your documents notarized for $5

They also offer showers, laundry and a clothing room on Fridays at 1pm.

Hi to whom it may concern wish the owner of this place will see this I know it's been some years ago when this incident happened I am a former residence of the breakthrough ministry women's side shelter and you had an employee by the name of Ms Tanisha working there and she stole my Link card when it came through the mail and she activated it and actually used it just because she was mad at me because I kept calling her asking her was my Link card there and still to this day I don't appreciate that so I don't know whether I want revenge or what but I just think you should know this never to trust Ms Tanisha she works at the breakthrough ministry women's shelter and your mail will get stolen and she is a thief and needs to be fired

This is a really great place. A dear friend had decided to collect clothes for women in need suitable for both the (then upcoming) holidays and job interviews as part of a Landmark course. She wanted to find just the right shelter so she could help the most people.

After talking to several places she found Breakthrough. They said they'd love such a donation and invited her to come down and see what they did there. We were both very impressed with what we saw. They appear to be doing a great job not only in providing shelter to women in need, but in helping those women find a way to help themselves through education and work-training.

Breakthrough urban ministries is a fantastic place. If you need anything food pantry they have it. If you know of someone who is in need of shelter, men or women breakthrough is the place to go. I highly recommend it. They help you with housing, employment, clothes and a hot meal.

They are the best! Their culture of being like Jesus is as close as human may become; they treat their guest with much respect. It's a clear environment. Even the Front line employee live up to Breakthrough's core values and mission statement.
