At first people weren't that friendly. I kept thinking "Is it Racism?" 4 Older Mexican women rolled their eyes when I smiled and said hello. Pastor and his wife were welcoming and a few other Christians approached me to greet me warmly. I sat in on the Spanish and English service. Pastor had an interesting method of handing out the days scripture on a sheet where you fill out the answers to simple questions as he preached. What a great idea!! It kept me alert. The page had holes so it must go in a binder. It made me want a binder. Pastor's message was about Family and parental responsibilities. He seemed to advocate corporal punishment and shun transgender identity. His message, while powerful, was a bit on the "machismo" side. Then again, what do I know? I don't have a husband.

I've been going to Bread of Life church since I was a kid, and I absolutely love it. Their main focus is all about loving God and loving others above everything else. It's a place where you're constantly learning, and it's so heartwarming to be around such caring people.
