We are so grateful to be a part of the Black Girls Dance community! Our daughter takes hip hop dance classes and it’s been amazing watching her dance skills and confidence grow. She was in her first recital and we were so proud! Erin produced a show that was beautiful, mesmerizing, and inspiring. Erin is so great with the kids, and such a strong, beautiful role model. The teachers are all amazing too! We love Black Girls Dance!

BGD is truly a special organization. Ms. Erin has created an amazing community of dancers and families, and her passion for dance education is amazing. The teachers are also incredible and supportive! The annual spring rehearsal is quite a production and not to be missed!

I’d like to start off by saying, I wish I could give more stars!!! My daughter has danced with this studio for the 2022/23 year. Let me start off by saying, the environment is positive, nurturing and professional. The teachers instruct with a high level of professionalism, rigor and love. I’d also like to point out that in my experience, the dancers are inclusive as well. My daughter started a little late in the season, although she has a background in dance, there were times when she couldn’t quite grasp the concept of certain steps. I noticed the instructor, as well as other students leaned in and danced with her to make she understood. That was heartwarming for me. I knew I’d made the right decision for my child.

The owner is a very kind soul with over 20+ years in the professional dance world. I think she wears many, many hats from a business woman, teacher, mentor, creative…the list goes on.

Just do it! Join the BGD community. You won’t be disappointed.

My (sometimes) crusty teen daughter leaves your dance class on Thursday nights "buzzing" with excitement. She talks nonstop about the rehearsal and choreography for about 30 minutes and then does about 30 minutes of dance moves at home going over what she's learned that night. Thanks for making her feel magical/ powerful/ challenged. Thanks for admitting her into your program.

There are other dance schools on the south side of Chicago, but none have the class & elegance that BGD does. Ms. Erin not only instructs & instills dance technique, she also instructs & instills confidence & a LOVE for dance into her students. BGD is not only the best school on the south side, it's the best school PERIOD!

My granddaughter Tylar at 3 years old started dancing with Black Girls Dance. She’s now 4 and we noticed a difference with her paying attention and she loves to dance. Ms. Erin and the BGD staff are professionals. They are attentive and awesome with the dancers.
