So neat this 1 room school house built in the late 1800's is accessible. We visit Belden School once a year when we participate in the "🧚‍♀️Fairy Garden Walk🧚‍♂️💛". My son was flipping through an old book, and to our surprise found not 1, but 2 FOUR LEAF CLOVER'S ☘️ pressed gently inside. (He put them back in the book for someone else to discover 💚).

It was a lot of fun for me to see this old school house. The old organ has been restored and is back in the schoolhouse and is an absolutely beautiful thing to see! My grandson had a blast getting to check out an abacus as well as sit at and old desk and get to write his letters with chalk on the personal use blackboard. We went during the fairy garden walk event so it was extra busy and fun with all the kids and families around.

A charming restored gem of local history. Some of the folks on the restoration committee were originally students in the school. An interesting fact is that students of all grades learned in one room, just different assignments. Make the stop if you're in the neighborhood - the historical object is nestled in a forest setting.

This is a beautiful day trip. The school is in the most beautiful county in Illinois. The folks in hand obviously love history and their part in sharing it. My mother taught here and I had no idea til a few months ago. Thanks so much for this piece of my history.
