An incredible experience with incredible guides! Highly recommend Basecamp for gear rental/guiding needs. Mal, Nico, and Anna were our guides for an amazing weekend exploring the ice park. They helped keep us safe and stoked, and gave us tips for staying warm even in some of the coldest temps in recent years. I will definitely be back!

What a cool experience!! My husband and I joined Matt this morning for the Gold Mountain via Ferrata and we had such a good time! With pointers and some extra encouragement from our guide, (thanks Matt!) we found ourselves climbing a few of the more exposed pitches, including the newer section that was recently installed in April. We loved it! Overall, it was a really cool experience with incredible sights. We really enjoyed hanging with Matt, and ended the climb feeling stoked!!!! Thanks again! Highly recommend, 10/10.

Logan created an incredible experience on Gold Mountain! This was our first time doing via ferrata and it won’t be our last. We got partnered with Mallorie as our guide and she was perfect for us. She shared so much knowledge as an experienced climber and coached us well! We highly recommend Basecamp, Gold Mountain Via Feratta and Mallorie! Logan took us out for a half day at the Ice Park. His staff was easy to talk to, very informative and extremely supportive. Logan guided you every step of the way and caught me when I fell! This is a great crew and an even better experience, thank you Basecamp!

With the help of Base Camp we checked off a bucket list item this summer! Gold Mountain via ferrata was such a cool experience!

Since it was our first via ferrata we were actually going to do an easier route in the canyon in Ouray. But once we got to Base Camp our guide Suzanna hyped us up to do Gold Mountain and I’m SO glad we did!!

It was exhilarating and little nerve wracking at times but by the end we had it down and I didn’t want it to be over. Since the route has 12 pitches there were opportunities to rest and chill between climbing but it still felt like we hustled through it. It was cool to see the old mine equipment and artifacts and can’t help but picture what it was like way back when.

I love that there were options for expert level thrills and a more straightforward routes so my husband and I were both able to have the best experience!

Thanks Basecamp & Suzanna for an awesome experience. We’ll be back!

We did the Gold Mountain Via Ferrata with Kat and it was probably the best experience we had! Something about climbing with a guide who is so knowledgeable, not only about the Mountain, the sport but also about the land and the history - makes the experience of climbing a Via Ferrata that much better. I 100% recommend booking with Basecamp if you are in Ouray! This was my 1st Via Ferrata and the entire process was so easy and comfortable. Before we went out to the Mountain, we were able to practice the movement and clipping in/out of the wire, in their indoor climbing gym. I really got a feeling of what I needed to do and felt ready to go by the time we started our climb! Kat was very patient and truly showed us that she wanted us to enjoy the whole experience. Kat even took several photos of us climbing, which I appreciated SO MUCH! Such a fun experience and I am very happy we booked with Basecamp

We did the Gold Mountain Via Ferrata today and would recommend it 1000%! Spencer was our guide and he was AMAZING. We were all absolute beginners (hiking experience but 0 climbing) and he was patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging to each of us! This is a must do anytime you come to Ouray— or come just to do anything that Basecamp Ouray offers!
