One of the Worst/Horrible schools I've ever been at back in 2012 to 2018. During my years there, it was like hell for me, i was contently bullied, I've told teachers and staff several times, my parents even came up to the school due to it, Staff and teachers did NOTHING about the situation, instead they blamed me without hearing my side of the story, i was even accused of rape at one point because a group of girls not liking me for whatever reason and telling one of the people that i was decently friends with that i was going too, Staff nor principles ever wanted to hear my story instead they've always blamed me when i was getting picked on and bullied for around 4 Years until me and my family finally moved where i can start new and not had to deal with the bs the school was giving me. The only thing i can even say that was good about this school was the Technology such as robotics, and the plants that's it. When i was transferred to Michell Obama due to behavioral issues it was a much BETTER school and experience, i felt more safer there then i did when i was at this school, i was feeling targeted everyday by people. At Michell Obama they actually cared about there students and don't just hear one side of what someone tells them instead they actually LISTEN instead of just not caring witch i give props to Michell Obama School for

I have two children within district 163 and there is a huge difference between Barack and Michelle Obama schools. Barack the people working in the office answering the phones and doorbell camera is extremely rude. When I say certain people doesn’t need to work in certain professions they really don’t need to. I called the school on 8-20-2024 I was hung up on and then I called back numerous of times and never got an answer. I even called from a different number. How is it the day before school starts and you’re not able to get an answer by phone. If you are that irritable than maybe you need to get another job. Today I went up to Barack Obama at 7:35am the first day of school and rung the bell and asked a simple question of my child registration and wanting to make sure they had everything they needed so that she could start school today. All she kept saying is school starts at 9:15am, I’m not asking you what time school starts. I then go ask her well what time will you all start answering the phone and she disconnected us talking on the doorbell which was very rude. The assistant principal then comes out to talk me and try’s to handle the situation but didn’t seem to be focused on my concern with the rudeness and it’s sad. I’m sorry to say it’s always nasty attitudes and behaviors with black people and their own kind. How these people show nasty and rude behaviors I’m afraid of how they maybe actually treating our children, which is sad because school should be a safe and protected space. This is my second year in the district and I really dislike Barack Obama school. Why put such a strong powerful influential name on a school that’s doesn’t stand strong with Integrity. Not all of the staff is rude but many are. Something needs to be done about this and I will be reaching out to the higher ups. People need to be careful and mindful of how they talk to people and handle people. So I will be contacting the superintendent. My other child attends Michelle Obama and my experience there has been very good. The office staff are very nice and patience with the parents I’ve never experience any bad situations with them. I feel comfortable and safe with my child being there. If anything happens they contact me to ensure my child’s safety. Barack you find out days later. The school district needs to clean house and hire better staff who wants to be there and genuinely care for children. Things need to change.

Genuinely one of the worst schools I’ve gone to. I’ve been in this district since pre-k and when I went here last year i was so disappointed. I am praying for anyone going here this year. The staff are extremely rude to us. The school counselor would tell everyone’s business after claiming it was between just us. There was only about 4-5 actually good staff. The school is in such a ghetto neighborhood with a bunch of wannabe gangster and ghetto kids. The staff are constantly talking about no bullying and what not, but when it actually happens they don’t do anything about it. The school is extremely dirty. When I say dirty I mean roaches, ants, and sometimes a rat would scurry along the floors. Some of the staff are really nice but again it’s only about 4-5. The school does not care about the kids AT ALL!!!!!!!!! Once there was a shooting literally directly down the street, and all they told us to do was put our heads down. They didn’t turn off any lights, or tell us to go to the corner or anything. Not to mention we didn’t go into a lockdown or a safe place. I cannot stress this enough but if you’re going here I am praying for you!!! I am so happy im out of here. If you can please go to a different school!

The drop off and pick up traffic pattern is Very Dangerous for the kids . The kids are running across the street . I witness a car almost hit 4 kids . The kids even screamed . They block the entrance with cones not allowing any parents to even enter the parking lot . I suggest a new drop off traffic pattern that allows kids to be dropped of in the parking lot versus being dropped off on the street. I called the school an spoke with a staff member who was nice at first but then ask me if my child was a student ? I said no and she hung the phone up. Although I work in the area and drive by the school every day. I pray no kids get hurt, in n Jesus name .
Hopefully they correct this situation before an accident happens .

I came back here during my sophomore year (a year ago) to talk to Incoming freshman about expectation and what not. The design definitely took a turn for the better but all the Teachers that made that place tolerable were not there. The interior was open and looked great but the atmosphere was depressing. I gave it 3 stars simply because of the building and the impression that they got the bug problem under control. If you can, I would definitely recommend the other campus (Michelle)

Fabulous to educate young minds using a platform that places 100% on logic as the foundation for learning and thought processing. This was part of my curriculum starting kindergarten-8th. Go for it. Logic is mandatory to process thought. Can you guys ask Barack if he knows what happened to Jeff Reuben? Barack and Jeff were both 1st year Law at UofC Law school in 1982. You helped me. I was Jeff's girlfriend. You helped me when I was waiting for my Mother to pick me at the law dorm. I got very sick. You helped me. I was in a coma the next morning. 2 weeks. You told me you didn't like Jeff Reuben. Thank you for being you B.

The school was dirty, I don't expect a school to be squeaky clean but there was things like ants and roaches that would occasionally pop up. Each year it was like new rules and restrictions were set it place. I would have given it one star but some of the staff/teachers aren't that bad. (Class of 2k18)

This school is great cause on 3/12/2020 yesterday we had a huge pep rally with tik tok dances
