This summer, we worked with Away with Words to evaluate our son for dyslexia, and the experience has been outstanding. We had the pleasure of working with Valerie Stokes, who conducted a thorough and comprehensive assessment. Valerie was not only professional but also incredibly empathetic and kind throughout the process. She took the time to educate us on what dyslexia means for our son and helped us build a plan to support his learning journey.

Since then, we’ve been attending sessions at Away with Words twice a week. The center has created a welcoming and supportive environment that has made a difference in our son’s confidence and progress. We couldn’t be more pleased with the care and attention we've received and highly recommend Away with Words.

One day I picked up my daughter from her lesson with Ms Angela and she said, “Ms Angela is a bucket filler, isn’t she? She just fills up my bucket!”

We have been working with Ms Angela for over three years and that statement summarizes why she is the absolute best. Ms Angela teaches with love, compassion, and excitement. While dyslexia makes reading difficult for my daughter, Ms Angela has a way of building her confidence and making her excited to come back for each reading lesson.

Our family moved across the country last year and we couldn’t find anyone nearly as qualified as Angela Williams to help our daughter. Due to distance, we have switched to online lessons three times a week. Even after a long school day, my daughter is happy to join her zoom call and spend time with Ms Angela as they go through her next lesson. It’s so fun, that my son often tries to join in on the lesson.

We are incredibly grateful for the work Ms Angela does and the growth that my daughter has experienced as a reader. Ms Angela has given her confidence and a love for reading.

Angela works one-on-one with my son weekly for the past year. She has incredible energy and a clear passion for teaching kids to read. She motivates my son, and he looks forward to working with her. For me, his willingness to see her is huge. We appreciate her flexibility and willingness to work with us. Highly recommend Away with Words.

If you understand the struggles of a child having dyslexia, then you and your child need Angela with Away with Words! She has worked with my now 8-year-old son for 2 years! Learning to read for my son is the hardest thing he has done in his life. He had significant resistance to reading because of how hard it is. Angela has won my son over, which is not easy! We tried previous providers in the past that were not able to do this. She has been a true Angel for our family and a life line through this journey. She has the knowledge to help these children but more than that she has the heart and the ability to make it fun, engaging, and grow their confidence in their learning in an exceptional way. She goes the extra mile to coordinate with my son’s school, educate herself on the reading program he is taught there and communicates with myself and helps me understand ways to help my son! I have high standards and Angela continues to exceed them and most importantly she is the key to my son reading!!!!! Don’t hesitate, she is the one to help your family through this Dyslexia journey!

We love Ms. Angela at Away with Words. She is the most positive, encouraging, and patient teacher. Her training, knowledge, and expertise in her field is invaluable. We have been working with her for five months and our son's motivation, work completion, and confidence at school have all improved exponentially. The investment of our time and money have proven beyond worth it. Ms. Angela is nothing short of amazing - we adore her. Our only regret is not starting sooner!

When we first met Angela and had my 8 yr old evaluated, he couldn't read at all. He struggled with even the basics and was at about a preschool level. In one year Angela has been able to teach him to read and help him feel confident in his ability to be a good reader. He leaves each session motivated and excited to go back. Angela's help has been a game changer for my son.
