Such a fantastic group of people! Everyone at Aspen flying club has such amazing attitudes, from the front desk to your fellow flight students! If you are looking for a flight academy with a great atmosphere then this is the place to go. They have a great learning environment. Providing aspiring aviators the best instructors you can possibly imagine. I was lucky to stumble across this flight academy, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am that I did. I can surely say that it is thanks to this club that I have affirmed my true love for aviation.

P.S. Thank You Aspen Flying Club, and Thank You Katlyn Ducote for being a spectacular instructor!

Been flying with one of their instructors for a couple years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Airplanes are first class, too. People at the front desk are great.

"THIS REVIEW WILL BE UPDATED THE STARS MAY GO UP OR DOWN"

The discovery flight was awesome. No lack of communication, instructor was there on time, we flew the aircraft everybody was happy.

There was a little miss communication which I was a little upset but they fixed the issue in a very short time (Liked how they took the responsibility and fixed it right a away!)
An instructor called me today, super nice guy, we went through some preparation.
I’m so excited.

I didn’t receive my PPL through Aspen but I rented through them. They have a great selection of aircraft including the Extra 300. Their aircraft are well maintained with 50 hour maintenance cycles so I feel safe flying these planes. Their tail wheel training is a bit expensive when compared to previous flying clubs I’ve experienced. Instructors appear to be great from the checkout rides I had with them. Overall great place and would recommend.

My advice, there are other schools around that are efficient and do everything in their power to get you ready or get you an airplane to live your dreams. Aspen might have the largest and most diverse fleet but: If you like to fly, get your ratings or get to places - enjoy your accomplishments, then go somewhere else.

Aspen wants to sell flight training. Their system simply incentives hour building (for instructors, that go to the airlines as soon as they can)… At one of the other schools (see my other reviews) you will find instructors that have more 1500h and teach based on real life experience…

I've waited a while to post, hoping it would get better, but...

Everything sounds great when you're trying to find a club, whether a beginner or seasoned pilot.

Once a member and utilizing systems to reserve planes, they suck. How do you screw up by scheduling a maintenance OVER a reservation already on the books WITHOUT cancelling the reservation which will send automatic notice to the member? These guys are experts at that: wasting your time! You can't call to correct after hours. The person at front desk is constantly screwing up some part of the scheduling process. (How am I seeing this person still here, employed, not better?)

Speaking of scheduling, if you belong to both of the owner's clubs in this area, and you are trying to reserve a plane, you have to CALL IN and ask someone to switch your user profile to the other club to schedule that club's planes, which means you can't conveniently schedule between the two clubs on your own time, using the internet. Bonkers!! What the effety eff? And this is their UPGRADED system.

At APA you'll already be wasting time and gas just being in line to take off. Having an inefficient scheduling system means surprises that'll keep you from building hours.
