AP Tutors has been a godsend for my daughter! She was failing Chemistry AAC and just felt generally lost. After reaching out to AP Tutors, they developed a tutoring schedule that provided IMMEDIATE help. We initially set up tutorials for twice a week, which enabled my daughter to focus on material she was confused about from prior lessons (session 1) and review content from the current week's lesson (session 2). Once she started coming out of the mental fog we revised her tutorial schedule to once per week.

As far as the student-tutor interface, all tutorials are online, face-to-face. My daughter's tutor is friendly and moves through the material at a pace that works for my daughter, lingering where she feels stuck. After each session, the tutor always provides session notes and worksheets. And, its a small thing, but I also appreciate that AP Tutors sends session reminders.

I know the teachers mean well, but we tried the before/after school tutorials first. Those are great if your kid just needs to clarify some material. But, if they are struggling like my daughter was, give AP Tutors a call! AP Tutors' rates are reasonable, and they do a great job upfront of outlining expectations for all concerned (AP Tutors, the student, and parents).

The tutor couldn’t understand my son’s questions and they had to spend two entire sessions just trying to communicate with each other. He told the tutor that they didn’t teach a lesson a certain way in school, but the tutor would t listen and keep teaching the lesson the way she wanted. And no it’s not language barrier or access, as my son is Indian. So we stopped using them. I was told we could switch to a different tutor. A month later when I wanted to change the frequency of the sessions and the tutor, she said I had to pay another $50 re-enrollment fee. And when I said I wanted to start the following week, she said the re-enrollment fee would be $100 then. When I asked why it went from $50 to $100, they did not answer and said I had to re-enroll and it was $100 regardless that I paid $100 initiation fee. Once I realized their business was just to get more money from me, I stopped engaging. I had to let my credit card company know to not pay these scammers.

There are plenty of legitimate tutors in this area. Ones who will not waste your child’s time and do not change fees mid-conversation. Do not waste your time with this business. Terrible!

AP Tutors really helped my granddaughter in Chemistry and Geometry. She was struggling so badly in both subjects and was feeling defeated. The tutoring company she previously had no longer was helpful to her and even made her cry. No tutoring program is worth that. We found AP Tutors listed as a tutoring company on the High School Website. I called immediately. This company provides one on one tutoring in the comfort of one’s home via live virtual video sessions. Both of the tutors encouraged my granddaughter to ask as many questions as she wanted and that they would repeat and review the information as many times as she needed. That really helped her a lot. She passed both Chemistry and Geometry and is moving on to Algebra II. We will definitely use AP tutors again.

AP Tutors did a great job of giving my child a better foundation for AP Calculus after not getting it in his Pre-Cal class. APT did a great job at matching a specific tutor to my child's learning style and personality. Their administrators were very responsive to our needs and the tutor was personable and filled in all of the gaps he needed.

My son attends Debackey HS. We had tried other online tutoring unsuccessfully so we were skeptical. Fortunately, AP Tutors is organized, maintains constant communication with my son and us, and always provides a summary of the work done. We saw immediate results. We are so happy with the SAT tutoring we received from AP Tutors! My son and daughter increased their scores on this most recent SAT score. My daughter was needing support in Math. Her SAT increased by 70 points, mostly in the Math Section. My son needed help in the reading section and he increased his score by 50 points.
