Let me be very clear.. I have never worked for Amtec or applied to any of their postings as far as I’m aware. My guess is they got my info off a job.board somewhere since they contacted me about a role in Portland, OR. I haven’t lived in Oregon in some time, though last time I was actuvely looking for work was when I was there.

Out of professional curtesy I responded to the unsolicited email saying I wasn’t interested since the role was 700 miles away and far lower pay than what I make now. I asked to be taken off their contact list since I’m not looking for work.

It return I received one of the rudest and most unprofessional responses I’ve gotten from a recruiter.. any pleasantries were gone and it was almost accusatory that I bother to write back and dare say I wasn’t interested.

The recruiter was overly dramatic and stated they would never contact me again… which was what I asked, so… okay?

The whole thing was really, really weird Again no prior contact with these people and given all of this? Even if there came a time I did decide to change roles, they wouldn’t be a company I’d look to to assist in a job search.
