Come to Alta Sierra where you can watch complete drunk idiots suck at golf and shank balls over and over with their pants down, so much in fact I got it on video.

Come to Alta Sierra where every employee couldn't care less about the absolute clowns 'playing golf' in front of us, especially the Marshall who acted like we were out of line for complaining to him and expecting him to do his job. Completely ruined a decent day of golf.

The course is not in great shape, but it's a cute track, impolite bar tenders to apathetic Marshalls, good luck if you decide to waste your money here.

Got a lesson from Nic. He was very friendly and all together a great teacher. I managed to play my best round of golf after 2 lessons which were one week apart. After watching me whack a few balls he gave me some really good suggestions. It felt awkward at first, but I hit enough balls at the range to get the hang of it. I highly suggest getting a lesson if you struggle at golf and want to up your game.

Play the course on February 26. Most if not all of The Greens had either a fungus or something that caused dead areas and these were sanded Which obviously made play challenging on The Greens! There are several temp tea boxes, which are not really tea boxes nor level. The existing key boxes do not appear to have any work being done other than perhaps some grass seed thrown on, We played on a weekday and did not see any maintenance people out on the course doing any work whatsoever, this is usually not a good sign. Golf Moose was $75 for two players which was OK but I would not be happy if I paid full price for this course!

I gave Alta Sierra GC a try for the first time, and I will be back. The course is located in the heavily forrested hilly terraine north of Auburn on HWY49.
The staff were helpful, the course was in good shape, and greens were fast. It appears that there is ongoing maintenace taking place, lots of tree trimming taking place.
Most of the tee boxes were in good shape, a few showed signs of under repair. The fairways were for the most part in good shape.
There is water (ponds) in place on several holes which is a nice touch. Being in the foothills, there are plenty of elevation changes, which also offers a few blind tee shots (over hills).
After the round I had lunch, which was terrific - great food.
If you enjoy playing golf in the foothills, elevation changes, and water in a pictureesque environment, you will love Alta Sierra.

Alta Sierra Golf Course is a gem! The setting is absolutely beautiful, and Nic is an incredible instructor—super upbeat and encouraging. He helped me improve my swing so quickly. Highly recommend!

I have been a member of Alta Sierra Country Club for about 10 years. I recently took three golf lessons from Nic Cefalu the assistant golf pro at the Club. Nic is very easy going and a great coach. My game has improved a lot after just a few lessons. Most recently, I played nine holes with Nic. His observations and suggestions are spot on, as far as what I was doing and how to improve my game. Now I hit the ball straighter and farther than I ever have. Now I find I have to club down for some strokes - that is how much I have improved. I highly recommend Nic Cefalu if you want to improve your game. He is very personable and knowledgeable. I am looking forward to playing a lot more golf now that my game has improved so much. Thanks Nic!

Good course where it's a little cooler than some of the ones lower down. They've made some improvements that helped a lot like new carts, shaded parking, and the grass on the course has gotten better. Their course pro Nic is very helpful and friendly. Glad they're doing all these great things!
