We stopped on the weekend and had a really excellent visit. The staff on duty in the main house showed us around and gave us a lot of interesting information about the family that lived there in the different artifacts. The walk around the property was really funβ€”; there are lots of old farm tools and machines. The barns are beautiful. Seeing the animals was a real plus – – they’re awfully cute and sure to be a big hit with the kids. The highlight was catching an art installation in one of the smaller barns. I’ve included information about the artwork here.

A great place to spend a couple of hours! It's run by the Boulder County Open Space division and one of their employees met us out front and took us through the 1909 built farmhouse that has been fully restored with period stoves, furniture and household items. Was very thorough in telling us about the history of the farm itself and the various owners. Then there's great things to see for the kids (or without kids) out on the farm itself. The two pigs performed well. They came out of their shelter and promptly went into the mud hole and appeared to have a great time rooting around. Brand new calf, miniature horses, goats, sheep and chickens and more! A great place that everyone of any age would enjoy!

This was a nice quiet alternative to the busy commercial pumpkin patches and farms this time of year. My preschool girls enjoyed chickens cows, donkeys, goats, and sheep, learning about farming practices through the years, and playing in the interactive exhibit set up in the barn. We ate a nice picnic lunch on one of the provided tables. Beautiful setting too. I rated this 5 stars because it was free and good for my younger kids. Not sure someone with older kids would rate it similarly.
