Heavenbound Aviation is an outstanding flight school, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Andy is an incredible instructor — patient, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about aviation. What sets him apart is the time and attention he gives to each of his students. He doesn’t just fill a schedule with as many people as possible — he’s genuinely invested in your success and safety as a pilot.

One of the biggest benefits of training here is that Andy is not only a CFI but also an A&P mechanic. That adds a huge layer of trust and peace of mind knowing your instructor personally maintains the aircraft you fly. If anything goes wrong, he doesn’t have to wait on a third-party mechanic who might not prioritize your training. Case in point: when the Taylorcraft had a brake issue, Andy had it back in the air literally the next day. That kind of dedication is rare.

Andy said I would be best to just get private license because it's going to take atleast 35 hours to get sport licensed. The conversation with him was very discouraging as I've already got my student pilot license for LSA. When he said I would need to go through his school from start to finish then I told him great I'll get on your scheduler. Then he said he had a girl from out of town training and it would be atleast 2 weeks before he could do an introduction flight and said I can get on the scheduler but I won't be able to schedule a flight because I'm not active. I'm looking into columbus flight club which is twice the distance from my house in order to pursue my sport pilot dream. Would not even waist your time with Andy if I was you
