A Hidden Gem in Lexington Park – Flashback is a Must-Visit!

Flashback Diner in Lexington Park, MD is truly a hidden gem that deserves to be on everyone’s radar! From the moment you walk in, you’re transported to a fun and nostalgic 1950s-style diner with vibrant decor, great music, and an incredibly welcoming atmosphere.

What really stood out to me was the exceptional customer service. I have some food allergies, and the owner personally went out of her way to make me a custom turkey omelet—fresh, delicious, and allergy-safe! That kind of attention to detail and care is rare and absolutely appreciated.

Whether you’re grabbing a hearty breakfast, a casual lunch with friends, or just looking for a fun retro diner experience, Flashback delivers. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing, and the vibe is unbeatable.

If you’re in St. Mary’s County or visiting Southern Maryland, do yourself a favor and check out Flashback. Support this locally-owned small business—you won’t regret it!

I am new to the city and wanted to try some local restaurants. Decided to give this little restaurant in the cut a try. I was riding by one day and I saw the sign and decided to stop by on my lunch. It was lunchtime and it was kind of packed. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, and I sat at the bar. I decided to get the cheese and bacon fries and also the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. The service was great and the food came quickly. They were busy in there so I was actually surprised when they brought the food. The fries were crispy and tasted good alone. The cheese and bacon only added more flavor to the fries. I would recommend the bacon and cheese fries to anyone. Now onto the chicken bacon ranch sandwich. I have had a lot of chicken bacon ranch sandwiches in my life from various places, but this one is easily top three. The type of chicken that they used was different than any other chicken that I had before, it tasted as if it was a rotisserie style chicken that they had chopped up to use as the meat. I could be wrong, I don’t know, I just know it was amazing. I do not know if you can tell from the pictures, but that is piled high. I was not even able to close the sandwich. I had to get a fork and eat out of the middle like a salad, just to be able to eventually close the sandwich and eat it regularly. Overall, the food was great. I will definitely be eating there again in the near future. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very diner-ish, in a good way. There was plenty of seating and space. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Flashback Diner is one of those hidden gems you’ll wish you had found sooner.
I’ve been a regular here for the past two years, and I can confidently say it's one of the best spots around. The food never disappoints—always fresh, consistently delicious, and satisfying no matter what you’re in the mood for. Whether it's a classic breakfast, a hearty lunch, or something sweet to wrap up your day, Flashback delivers every time.
What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They always go above and beyond, treating every guest like family. From the warm welcomes to offering service that’s both attentive and heartfelt. It's clear they genuinely care. It's rare to find a place where you feel both well-fed and genuinely appreciated.
Flashback Diner isn’t just a great place to eat—it’s a place that feels like home. I HIGHLY recommend!

Greeted the second we walked in the door and seated promptly, loved the 50’s diner look and red booths! The atmosphere here is very warming and you feel very welcomed by the family who owns and operates the joint. They are very personable and make you feel right at home. The food here is the best in town!! I haven’t had a better meal anywhere in town. Big portions and willing to accommodate. My bf and I both got the banana split and don’t care for chocolate ice cream so the server asked us if we’d like to switch that flavor we chose salted caramel. Very inexpensive and affordable! The kids fell in love with this place and loved all the decorations for Halloween as well as the food and frosted mugs of root beer. Would highly recommend checking this place out. The Reuben was the best I ever had!! & my bf loved the tuna melt!! Desserts were amazing too as my youngest couldn’t wait to try the pb frosted chocolate cake and oldest the vanilla sundae. Loved hearing the stories from the family how this place came about and how they brought their upstate NY inspired cooking to their diner! 🤗

We just moved to the area and my husband suggested we try to find a mom/pop restaurant to try. This is the first one that came up. We absolutely loved the whole experience! The restaurant is clean, service was outstanding, food was fresh and delicious! We sang along with all the oldies that were playing. They won my heart with their corn nuggets. I haven’t seen those since I visited Texas years ago. I really enjoyed reading the unique names of all the different dishes. We figured out the restaurant was family owned and operated. They all came out and introduced themselves and we had a great conversation. This likely will be our new spot 🥳

Went again today July 5th. I ordered a ham, turkey, bacon club sandwich. Oh my! It was LAYERED with awesomeness!

Second visit here. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our first visit so we are repeat customers. We sat at the bar, again, and received excellent service. We met some folks who are regulars there, had great conversation with several waitstaff, customers, as well as the owners/cooks, and enjoyed the friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Our home cooked breakfast meals were delicious and filling. You will definitely not walk away hungry. Their waffles taste like funnel cake. Ummmm. Yep. Throughout the week, there are various desserts that are not on the menu...Specials. If luck is on your side, you will get to taste THE carrot cake. We will return!

I love the 50s aesthetic throughout! The servers, the decor, the food all make me feel like I have been transported to the set of Grease. The tuna melt was SO GOOD that I thought about getting one to go for later. The food is always good but exceptional with the sandwich. Even the bacon cheese fries were great. I look forward to trying other menu items when I venture down there.
