What an amazing place to visit and learn!

There is ample parking - both on pavement and gravel. The area is well marked so you easily know where to go.

Front desk staff are extremely helpful and excited to answer questions and assist.

The tour is self guided with an app to download. It helps if you download it before you go.

Each stop has a number linked to the app that explains what you are seeing and gives a history of that particular point of interest. You follow red arrows on the ground to guide you to the next point of interest

The tour is approximately 90 minutes depending how fast or slow you go. It takes you inside and outside, so make sure you take water as some areas (rainforest) are hot and humid.

There is a gift shop at the entrance where you can purchase water, etc for reasonable prices. There are restrooms and water bottle filling stations along the way. A theatre plays an historic reel about Biosphere 2 which is worth watching!

The views here are gorgeous. I highly recommend visiting the Biosphere 2 and experience what it represents. This was an adventure!!

We loved the Biosphere 2!! It is totally worth the walking tour!! It's fascinating. Taken over by University of AZ in July of 2011 for ecological research. They have created the largest enclosed ocean with waves and everything. Rainforest was incredible!

It's a neat place to explore and very educational. For the most part, it was accessible until my husband needed the use of their chair lift. It had not been maintained, and when it malfunctioned, they had no clue where the manual hand crank was. They finally came up with a makeshift ramp and were lucky his chair could recline back to clear the safety car, or we'd still be there. They apologized profusely and refunded our tickets for the trouble. We hope they were able to fix it.

Although they don't have an Arctic habitat, this is a very, very fun place to visit, you can really get your daily step count in here. The ability to tour different types of habitats that are indicative of the plant makeup of our planet is something to behold, (going to the Amazon rainforest without a passport, or insect bites. AWESOME!) I would definitely come back to this place when I come back to Arizona.

Overall I enjoyed this experience. I think a guided tour on a weekend would definitely a bit more thorough. I still enjoyed the self guided. I think I expected a bit more of a historical site than a modern lab. It definitely had both though. Definitely a unique and fun experience.

Absolutely remarkable in every way! The History! The architecture! The horticulture and simulated environments!The complex series of systems they’ve engineered to run the place!

This is place is seriously a marvel, and a monumentally ambitious project. It is absolutely due for a renaissance, and deserves so much more public support & funding than it’s currently getting. While it’s a bit of a drive, I promise you that It’s worth it.

Had a wonderful time learning about biosphere 2 and seeing the facility. It’s a great lesson and wonderful to see the ecosystems. The guided tour in the app is easy to follow and give great nuggets of information.

To answer the inevitable question, Biosphere 1 is the earth itself. Don't feel bad. I asked the same question.

I went here with a a friend. We both enjoyed our visit.

First we watched a video about the Biosphere 2. Then we went on a guided tour. I will always choose a guided tour if given the option. I just learn more that way.

There were other people on the guided tour. One family, I'm sure they were space aliens. There clothes, their questions, their mannerisms were just a little...off. I guess they were trying to understand Earth and thought they'd gain some knowledge at Biosphere 2.
