I loved their services and appreciated how the service helped with my exams. I signed up for four sessions, because that is all I had left in the fall semester.

Upon complete it my four sessions I took my final exam. I scored 20 points higher than last semester. I attribute that to Varsity and to my tutor. He was able to open the material to me so that I could more deeply understand it.

The first issue I had was with a tutor that VT set me up with. She was extremely rude and once I gave her my review after the class ( she wasn’t happy with ) I received 5 hours of hate texts and harassment from here. After I told Varsity what happened they actually helped me out and both sides were happy.

I then downloaded the app so I can see who my next tutor will be and I noticed that they had me in a monthly subscription ( that was never explained to me ) I noticed I can “Pause” it so I wouldn’t get charged ( I was told I wouldn’t get change unless I reactivated the subscription)

Fast forward a few weeks after my licenses I noticed I got charged over $500 outta no where. Once I called I to explain to them that I don’t need their services at the moment anymore the operator played nothing but games with me and kept trying to sell me more packages. I was planning on using them in the near future and was happy with them but now I won’t be using them for my next 3 license or won’t be sending them my 8 students.

They lost a loyal customer by playing games , lying and not telling the truth about them.

I am updating my review after the Varsity Tutors Customer Services Manager called me and addressed all my issues. The desire of Varsity Tutors to reach out to their customers and resolve any outstanding issues is definitely something commendable and only a serious business takes time to do that. Based on that I have updated my rating for them

Not a good experience with varsity tutors. They assigned a tutor who kept canceling tutoring sessions. On complaint, they assigned a new tutor who didn’t show up either. They told me to reach out to the tutor directly. On calling the tutor, she told me that my son’s tutoring schedule was not in her schedule at all. Talking more to the tutor found out that her profile was fake & nothing written in the profile (that she was a computer engineering student) was correct. Took many calls to get my membership cancelled. Really disappointed

Varsity Tutors online has misrepresented their services. I was told over the phone that I was signing up for a 1 time tutoring session for 2 1/2 hours and would be broken down into 2 sessions. I have now realized that it is a monthly charge of $199 a month a subscription that I did not signup for. I have called 2x now to get a refund for the 3 months they charged my account and they said that they will not refund my account. I asked them to review the call that I had with the representative as proof I what was represented and they said they do not do that. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they refused. This company is not reputable. BUYER BEWARE! SUPER UPSET!!!

reading the other one star reviews makes me feel lucky. I had only planned on ordering one month and had the one month of “tutoring” after some time i check the hours i have and it resets back to 8 and shows that i have paid another 579.00 dollars. First i lost the remaining 2 hours i had from last month and on top of that they recharged me. I am the lucky one out of all this b/c reading other reviews some people have been charged similar prices for over a year. This place is ridiculous and don’t get scammed.

Be very careful when signing contract with them. We were not provided a good tutor. On top of it we were charged for next month.
By default they setup a recurring account. Will not give you access to modify your account. And you will be surprised with a bill. We filed a dispute but our credit card company but they sided with this company. We were changed $329.00 for services we never received. I think husband probably skipped looking at their negative reviews. But, the other reviews are true about charges and teachers.

My daughter and I had a great experience, with Varsity Tutors. The staff worked with me to find the right plan for what we needed to accomplish and my daughter had a great tutor. She and her tutor had great interaction and she enjoyed the format of the session. The sessions definitely helped my daughter improve on her exams. The work was broken up into chunks and easy for her understand and follow.

I've been tutoring with Varsity for a few months now, and I've had a very positive experience. I love the ease with which I can find students that match my skill set and the ability to make up my own schedule. My schedule changes from week to week, so the flexibility to have as many or as few appointments day to day is really convenient. The staff is also exceptionally helpful. I recently needed a letter of recommendation and they quickly responded with a great letter based on actual student reviews of my tutoring. I prefer to tutor in-person locally, but the online platform allows me to fill my schedule as I see fit. The majority of these are outside of my time zone, so this opens up a much larger student base to choose from. For me, Varsity is a really great way to keep my schedule full while providing help for students who need it.
