Fantastic place for the kids and adults into sports. My nephew was playing basketball there indoors and they had an awesome bike track outside! Amazing place. Didn't even know it existed til now. This organization was built by a good friend of mine who passed away not that long ago. It's extremely sad to see that it's being ran by people that disgrace Denise Swartzman who was his wife and whom the facility was built in Remembrance of her. They run a co-ed basketball league out of this facility. However, the coordination is more then lacking! They encourage fouling by not having a foul limit. The volunteer referees are given the power to change the outcome of the game if they don't like the audience (parents) "telling them they made a bad call or didn't call a blatant rule brake" then they can call a foul on the parents team for free throws. What sport allows referees to determine the outcome of a game? Not to mention, this is for the kids! This will be the last session my kids participate in this event. I would hope that the people running the league would lead by good example. But from my perspective, their example is to show the kids that they have the power to impress their own rules and choose what team wins

I'm not the kind of person who complains but since I'm currently preganct the pregnancy hormones are kicking in. I've been calling Boy's & Girls club for a month about volunteering since I have 50 hours of community service hours due on August 3rd.
They always said "someone will call you back, someone will call you" and they never do.
Finally I demanded Answers and I wish I took a step back to think about how my actions may affect others and how to talk to sensitive women because clearly my pregnancy hormones kicked in when I felt I was being ignored and they explained to me the process is the same as everyone else.
The CEO pulled me aside & they almost seemed as if they were offended by the fact that I was asking why it took so long.
Not even 10 minutes in since I left & they called me to tell me their not interested in working with me anymore, before they gave me a chance. I was very upset to read this and I hope you are too as you read this.
I wouldn't volunteer to a place who judges people off the bat, it's not like I asked to work there I just asked to volunteer and they told me "my attitude problem " is an issue.
First off I'm a flight attendant and I'm the last person to have an attitude problem, I sware these women are to sensitive (maybe from the heat. It affects us all lol).
Go do you but don't do it with B&G Club

This is my favorite place to donate goods as their competition has gotten too expensive. Their prices are reasonable and they do good work for the kids in this area.
