Be careful here. Expired parking meter instant $50 ticket. What an absolute ripoff and a great way to thank people keeping these business open.

The entire city is permeated with antique parking meters, that have no credit card or phone options. Good luck finding a ton of quarters from any business in the area, either not open or willing to help. Nothing but a money making scheme.

Gotten the only 2 parking tickets in my life of 73 years right here within the couple of years I have lived here. First time I didn’t have my wheels turned the right way. Who tickets that? Then, I put money in the meter, went into a store across the street for about 5 minutes, and had a ticket for an expired meter when I returned. Just didn’t realize it until too late or I could have taken a picture of the meter, though I am not sure it would have helped. Another $50. It’s pretty annoying. Definitely discouraging for shopping in Nevada City.
