Academic Connections has provided my daughter the boost in confidence she needed to start to excel in school. There individualized study skills program was a life saver as she never misses assignments and is well organized. She knows how to plan for her work load especially now that she is taking honors classes. Thank you Academic Connection for Haley our fantastic academic coach!

Thank you to our wonderful tutor Samantha. The owner helped us personally to help find and match us with one of her teachers. The owner even substitutes when our tutor is out sick. So we never miss a session. My daughters are feeling confident in class because they have a better grasp of the material. Thank you Academic Connection!

A big thank you to Megan and her wonderful team of teachers and tutors. All four of our children have used teachers from Academic Connections. Megan's ability to match the right teacher for all of children in various subjects has just been amazing!

My daughter really flourished with her academic tutor this past school year. Her grade sky-rocketed from a low "D" first semester to a "B+" over the second semester. Her tutoring has continued throughout the summer with prosperous development. I highly recommend this tutoring group and will forever be indebted to Academic Connections!

Horrible, horrible, horrible!!! We've had a horrible experience with Megan Duret, the owner of this company, and a Wilson tutor we were considering working with. We thought we'd start working with her in the summer and then if all went well continue into the fall. However, Megan always has an excuse about why things don't happen as planned and she still hasn't delivered a WADE evaluation report that we already paid $200 for.
The first time I spoke with Megan and the call got dropped like 4-5 times, it was because of the cell-phone connection. Then it was an e-mail/Internet connection if she didn't get my e-mails. Then when we finally scheduled a consultation and WADE evaluation, she was late getting to our home. I was patient and understanding in the beginning...but then it was clear there are serious problems with how Megan operates. She did a WADE evaluation on my son on a Friday. I actually, foolishly, paid her $200 because I was to get the report the following session - on a Tuesday or Thursday the following week. On Tuesday, no report. On Thursday, she cancelled our appt. On Friday, still no report and she told me we had to reschedule the following week. Now this is all happening, even though I told her I like to figure out a schedule and stick with it because it helps us plan and also consistency is important when doing the Wilson reading program...doing it on random days, willy nilly does not help the child. The following week, we had to meet on a Wed, although I told her from the start that Wednesday were not good for us. When she came that Wednesday I asked for my son's WADE evaluation. She said she'd bring it Friday. Well, on Friday morning, she cancelled our appt again. I asked her to e-mail me the report or I could come pick it up. She said she'd e-mail me it on Friday. It's Saturday and I still don't have it.
Also, when she did come to our home she was always about 30 minutes to an hour late and told me it was because of the guard at the gate. Since we did have problems with the guard in the past, I called our HOA to complain. Our HOA assistant manager actually checked into this because they record all goings-on at the gate, and after review Megan's tardiness wasn't caused by the guard, but because she just arrived late at the gate. And, this is only in a 2 week time frame!!!
I also referred a friend to reach out to Megan before I experienced all these problems...and my friend had a hard time reaching and scheduling with Megan. And, Megan always had an excuse with her too....her work e-mail/Internet wasn't working properly, etc. If Megan doesn't want to work, then she shouldn't put herself out there. Most families of dyslexics I know already experience a certain level of stress trying to figure out how to help their children. Trying to work with a tutor who makes it difficult to work with - being consistently late, changing schedules, cancelling appts, not giving them what they paid for- is not something these families need. If you want business you have to be able to communicate with clients, be on time, keep appointments, follow through and when you take someone's money deliver what they paid for....I think that is the lowest form of business operations, when you take someone's money and don't give them what they paid for. It's like stealing.
