I strongly recommend this location be audited by the ATF. I obtained my Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC) here on my birthday and decided to try out the range, despite the numerous negative reviews, because it's close to my home. While the staff seemed a bit sarcastic and displayed some attitude, I initially brushed it off, thinking it might be their way of conveying the seriousness of handling firearms.

A few days later, I ordered a firearm from Palmetto State Armory (PSA), which was shipped to this FFL location. I attempted to return the firearm to PSA in order to upgrade to a better model, but PSA informed me that it was too late and that I would need to work with the FFL directly.

On the day the firearm was scheduled for delivery, I called to notify the shop. The woman who answered said they frequently work with PSA and would handle it. However, after several days, the tracking still showed that UPS had not received the package. I called the shop again, and they claimed they had not received the shipping label. I promptly emailed the label and followed up by phone to confirm receipt, which the woman said she had, assuring me their shipping personnel would take care of it that day.

Two more days passed with no tracking updates, so I called again. This time, I was told there had been an issue but that the firearm would be shipped the next day. That day came and went—still no update. I decided to go in person on Friday, which turned out to be a mistake.

Although the woman at the front desk was polite, Daniel who appeared to be the manager or RSO quickly became hostile and gave me significant attitude. It seemed like my presence annoyed him. I explained that I had spoken with PSA and was advised that, since the firearm hadn’t been shipped yet, I could keep it and cancel the return. He told me the gun had already been shipped and that there was nothing he could do. I pushed back, pointing out that UPS still showed no record of receiving the package.

He then stepped aside to make a phone call and returned to tell me that the gun had actually not been shipped yet, but that it would go out that night. The following day around 9 AM, tracking finally updated, showing the origin location as Van Nuys—strange, considering the shop is in Compton.

This entire experience raised serious concerns. It’s unsettling to know that a firearm could be sent to this location and potentially “go missing” with no trace or accountability. If you value professionalism, transparency, and peace of mind when purchasing a firearm, I would highly recommend avoiding this FFL entirely.

Place is nice to practice.
Range Officer was rude not friendly, I asked questions and he acted sarcastic and unhelpful., I was trying new gun and he was right behind my back making me very uncomfortable, but as soon as somebody that he knew came in the range hi attitude suddenly changed torse the other person being super friendly and not being as invasive as he was with me.
Overall bad experience ,do not go there if you want to practice in peace and take your time, I feel like I was in the hurry to get out of there.

Avoid this business at all costs and don’t be misled by the reviews, many of them are fake and written by their own employees. If you share a genuine negative experience, they will quickly counter it with a fake positive review from a newly created account, even if their last review was months ago. This place is not only unprofessional but also deceptive. If you visit, expect poor treatment, and if you complain, they’ll try to bury your review with a fabricated one that contradicts your experience. Don’t trust the ratings, most are from new accounts with only a single review. Save yourself the trouble and stay away.

Visited this establishment and had an amazing experience. I was a little skeptical about it because of the negative reviews I read about the Range Safety Officer. Which were misleading. The RSO not only made me feel safe but also confident about shooting my weapon. The house rules were simple and easy to follow. In my opinion if the RSO says you can’t do something while in the range then it’s for your safety and his. Accidents can happen whether you’re a beginner or an experienced marksman. 10/10 will visit again.

Definitely not the same welcoming place since 2020,no regular updates on new procedures or improvements, front desk attendants rude and unprofessional, lack of proper knowledge of gaurd card and other licenses, certification. Issues with range masters, umongst other employees being standoffish, regularly will avoid customers in the back when anoid, feeling that they can careless if you've been more than curtious and respectful for the last few years coming to conduct your business only to be treated like you're not welcome, and your business was never appreciated to begin with. Treated like a wise guy without giving out the smart attitude or remarks!!

Don't know what folks are talking about with the neg reviews. It was my first experience there in Feb 2025 and I found the staff to be friendly. This place is not Disneyland what happens there is serious. If you think handling a firearm is fun and games think again.

I've been coming to this shooting range since 2022, and it used to be my go-to spot after FT3 Tactical and Insight Shooting Range. However, my experience today was disappointing due to a new RSO who really needs to dial it down.

He stands just three feet behind you, creating an intense and uncomfortable atmosphere—almost like he's waiting for you to make a mistake just so he can react. It’s unsettling and makes shooters more nervous than necessary.

Additionally, I was informed of a new rule stating that recording is no longer allowed. When I asked the receptionist about it, instead of clarifying or addressing my concerns, she simply backed up the RSO. This was frustrating because I’ve recorded plenty of shooting sessions at this exact range before, without any issues, under a previous RSO who was far more reasonable. I explained that I’ve been coming here for three years and that my recording method—placing my phone in my front shirt pocket to capture my target—has never been a problem. However, the new RSO was adamant, stating that if I recorded, I would be removed from the range.

I understand restricting recording if someone is being reckless—holding their phone in one hand and shooting with the other, for example. But simply having a phone in a front pocket, aimed at the target and not at anyone else, shouldn’t be an issue.

I usually don’t like leaving negative reviews, but I hope management sees this and takes steps to better educate their staff on rules and customer interactions. A range should be a place where shooters feel safe and comfortable, not like they’re being treated as criminals.

Shooting range is good But.
Customer service not that good needs a little bit more of a smile and be a little bit more friendly. with the customers. Now when you Call the office They suppose to tell you is not a public shooting range.
