This place was a big surprise! Very cool area with loads of history, indoor and outdoor exhibits. A few of them blew the kids minds, mainly the giant playhouse/tiny home really set the bar high for a playhouse. The confederate money and guiatene were my favorite things. The lady running the visitor center is also very enjoyable to talk with.

I didn't have many hopes for this quick little stop in the middle of nowhere, but I was pleasantly surprised. No one else was in the small museum, and we really enjoyed looking at the antiques and playing records on the record player. The walk around the grounds with pleasant enough. And the larger museum really grabbed our interest with some of the creepy dolls and other cool antiques. Of the six or seven state parks we visited on this weekend, this was probably our funnest little stop. We didn't see or speak to another soul the entire time we were there.

My favorite thing here is the child-sized playhouse. During previous visits, it was outside. I'm glad they've been able to build a building big enough to house it inside out of the weather to preserve it better. Nice history of the area.

What an awesome replica of a typical prairie house/farm. Even had their own gallows!

Exceeded my expectations. I didn’t think it would be that interesting or even have much to offer. However, I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed my visit. The lady working there was super sweet and informative.

Nice job with the exhibits and a friendly docent, too. Stop by and look around and get a cold drink for a dollar.
