We have loved sending our kids to Woodland for the past two and a half years! The teachers are loving, caring, and most importantly, take the time to work with your kiddo with his or her specific needs. They also do a great job at balancing the foundations of education with the love and teaching of Jesus. Additionally, the approach Cheryl and her team take to teach life skills is very intentional and translates easily into seeing your child flourish and learn responsibility. My kids run into school every single day and absolutely love their teachers and friends! We couldn’t be happier with the level of care.

The classroom sizes are small and there is a great teacher to kid ratio. The facility is beautiful, clean, and the team is constantly working to update areas.

If you want a vaccine exemption, BEWARE, they will discriminate! We scheduled a tour and we were ready to apply after speaking with the owner and seeing what a great program they offer, with regards to the Reggio Emilia approach. We were excited because we thought we had found the perfect fit.

The first red flag was that during the tour I asked for pricing and the owner kept deferring the question and said she would email it to me. After never receiving an email, I called. And called. And called. I would call at least 10 times a day every day for at least a week. I finally asked a friend to call from their phone and quickly realized they were screening my calls.

At one point, when I called from a friend’s phone and somebody answered, the person on the other line already knew who I was before I told them so that told me other employees were in on screening my calls. I was really confused as to why they didn’t want us there.

The only thing I can come up with is that when I toured I asked if they accepted vaccine exemption forms and was told (hesitantly) “yes.” I didn’t realize until later that if you accept state funding, you have to accept the exemptions. I’ve sent emails about this issue and I’ve received no reply. This was about 3 years ago that this happened but I really would love an explanation as to why my calls were being screened. It was incredibly cowardly and rude and felt very, very discriminatory. If you don’t remember us, Cheryl, we visited on 6/8/21 just to refresh your memory.

Two of my children have attended Woodland Academy since they were 4 months old. My oldest is now 10 and the baby is one. The staff at Woodland is consistent, caring and passionate about education. Providing our children with child care with a Christian curriculum was SO important to our family and Woodland has been a perfect fit for over 10 years. They say “it takes a village” to raise a child and we’re so blessed that Woodland Academy is a part of our “village”.

We couldn’t have asked for a more positive experience than that provided by Woodland Academy. The facility is safe, clean, and filled with age-appropriate learning materials. The staff is outstanding—they are warm, professional, and genuinely love the work they do. The communication from the daycare team is superb, providing regular updates and feedback about our baby's progress. Their attention to detail regarding our baby's routine has been impressive, ensuring separating meal times, naps, and playtimes in a daily email update. We have every confidence in the daycare's operations and feel it's the perfect place for our child's growth and development—it's been nothing short of amazing. We'd highly recommend this daycare to any parents seeking top-quality, loving care for their little one!

My child has attended after school care and summer care. We are incredibly pleased with the care provided by Cheryl Starek and her staff. Safety has been a priority during COVID and Cheryl goes ABOVE and BEYOND to ensure a safe, thriving environment for all children. The personal care we have received is amazing! If you are looking for a loving, supportive environment where your child can grow developmentally, emotionally, creatively, and many other ways- Woodland is THE place!

Cheryl and her staff are everything we could have ever asked for in early childhood care and development. Our three kids love "school" here. We have been with woodland since 2015. She has bent over backwards for our family and loves our kids like her own. 110% would recommend Woodland!!!

It has been incredible how much our Pre-K child has absorbed from the thoughtful and intentional curriculum at Woodland Academy. Where we started in August and where we are now in January is impressive. Woodland puts time, effort, and love into their school, and it has borne fruit! Extremely attentive to the whole child- social, emotional, and physical. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
