What a busy day for these poor folks, but they are super professional and very friendly. Even with some crazy older person complaining the entire time about the wait they managed to remain professional and kept order. I waited 2 hours to get seen and about 45 minutes waiting in the examination room before the doctor could see me. He quickly diagnosed me and provided my prescription. He had an excellent bedside manner. You might have to wait a bit if it’s a busy day but these people are wonderful.

I have been there three different times and seen three different providers. All were friendly and treated me like I was a person, not just another patient in a long line of patients. I felt seen and heard. So often, as a person who is totally blind, when I go to the doctor, the staff and provider look at, and speak to the person accompanying me, not me myself. That did not happen at this clinic. They were also totally accepting of my guide dog as well, which was nice. If I had one complaint, it was that their office was a bit on the warm side all three times I visited.

Genuinely one of the worst urgent care clinics.

We went yesterday after a serious attack from a cat in order to have wounds cleaned, assessed, medication, tetanus shot, & stitches if need be.

THEY DIDNT CLEAN THE WOUNDS. i sprayed betadine prior to us leaving while we were cleaning it. He came out with it still on his arm. They told US to clean it with warm soap & water when we got home. Not a big deal, didn’t think much of it.
Whenever we got back home, we started cleaning the wounds & noticed what seemed to be a nerve coming out.
When we called urgent care to see if ER was needed, they asked us to come back in & sent him back out with no cleaning, again, and a neuro referral (normal for urgent care).

now once i called, i simply asked “why weren’t the wounds cleaned” & i won’t lie, i was upset. however, their receptionist deemed it a good idea just put me on hold any time i called. this clinic is laughable.

I have been to High Desert Clinic several times over the last three years. I’ve always been treated with respect, handled with care, and left with answers instead of more questions. I notice that patients who come in complaining often leave complaining; if your mindset is already negative, you’re going to keep noticing the negative and your visit will most likely be negative. But if you come in knowing you’ll receive faster care than at the ER, and that the clinicians they have here are knowledgeable in treating acute care needs, your visit will go more easily. This is not the place to go if you’re having a more chronic issue; they’re not the doctors who will follow up with you during a course of treatment. If you’ve had stomach pain for six months, you should make an appointment with your primary care doctor, not show up here because they are about proving acute care. The emergency room also isn’t the place to see care for a chronic condition, unless you’re exhibiting new (acute) symptoms in your chronic health issue. Short term or new needs are best served in a setting designed to handle acute needs, which is the ER or Urgent Care. Your primary care doctor is the one you want to go to if you have an ongoing health issue. Most people that I see miserable and unhappy and complaining about the clinic are often talking about needing care for a chronic condition. Anywho, this is a GOOD clinic and you will be seen and cared for with respect and consideration for quality of life:

Nice receptionist but to be told upon a 3:30 arrival that the radiologist “left an hour ago but that the doctor can still see me and then I can come back tomorrow for the X-rays.” I had to stop myself from laughing out loud. Whats the point of an urgent care if I'd have to come back twice for the same service? Should I just pay for each visit, too? This place is a joke and that's sad considering its the only business of its kind in SV.

You will be in the waiting room 2 maybe 3 hours on a busy day, which is to be expected, I won’t claim to know how things run internally but every person who came after me got in before me and I thought it was first come first serve. Idk I don’t want to be a jerk the people upfront are very friendly and helpful. My biggest issue is the 90yr old doctor that looks and sounds like she should be in a nursing home. She’s rude, absolutely no bedside manners and refuses to fully listen to your symptoms. I’ve been here three times and have had her every time and I will go up to Tucson or Nogales instead of this place and only because of that doctor. After a 2 hour wait today I finally just left, not worth it.

So I have been banned from desert high for posting my experience here.
Cannot and will not be served.
which is fair in a sense for trying to go back in the first place.😂
Beware if you post your experience they will ban you!

It was okay. Pretty much what I would expect from an emergency clinic.
I expected to be waiting a while, and probably wouldn't have been bothered by it if I'd not been forgotten about in the exam room.
I was seen in under 10 minutes after filling out paperwork, explained the issue, gave a urine sample, and then proceeded to wait 1 1/2 hours in the exam room. It would have been better if there was some music or if I'd remember to bring a book; rather, I could hear everyone going on their lunch breaks and gossiping.
I was about to get up to ask to be seen when the doctor came in, told me what I already knew and to "wait here a minute longer" until someone could bring me my Patient Clinical Summary and tell me my prescription would be filled at CVS.

Filling out paperwork was the easiest part of my visit to this clinic, next time I will bring me a book, very friendly staff, very attentive to my needs and yes after a 45 minute wait I was about to go see if in fact my dr actually exists he walks in gave me the full treatment and told me what I was figuring out, but I need the prescription.
This is a right on 👍 place for me.
