My two kids have been with Sage Oak for the past 4 years. We have had such a great and positive experience during our time here.

I researched many other charter schools and Sage Oak has an excellent and vast curriculum options for my kids. We are part of their PLA program and do a fully customized curriculum for each subject. It was a little intimidating in the beginning to choose the right curriculum for us, which we did change each year until we were able to fine tune what works best for their learning style. Now that we have it dialed down, it's been great.

They also offer plenty of field trip options, which we also participate in nearly each week! They also work with a lot of vendors that the student's IFs will cover. I have only had one vendor complain about not being paid promptly, but I've been with them for so long, that they finally stopped using me as a middle man to vent their frustrations. That was on the vendor though, and not the school.

My kids have fun learning here and don't ever want to change. We have made many friends along the way and look forward to the future as we continue our educational journey here with Sage Oak!

Our experience with Sage Oak has been incredibly frustrating. The teacher is completely unorganized, inefficient with school funds, and uninterested in truly supporting students. At the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, our daughter’s math books, which should have arrived promptly, didn’t get to us until October—two months late. On top of that, the teacher mistakenly ordered extra books, wasting our student funds. She also denied approval for certain books that were clearly listed as approved by Sage Oak, only to later admit her mistake after wasting a week going back and forth.

When we expressed concerns about our daughter’s education, the supervisor, immediately sided with the teacher instead of addressing our valid frustrations. My wife was simply advocating for our child’s learning, yet for some reason, and they took issue with this, making the situation hostile.

When I asked the teacher for alternative ways to help my daughters better understand science and social studies, her response was to “look on YouTube.” How is this acceptable? If that’s all she has to offer, why do we even need her? I could’ve done that myself.

Even after bringing our concerns to the principal in writing, nothing was done. She never even read what we wrote and instead redirected us to the Teacher's supervisor. Rather than working to improve the situation, they chose to micromanage while demonstrating zero knowledge about actually educating children.

This school is a complete scam. Their focus isn’t on educating children—it’s on checking off boxes to ensure they get paid. The teacher shows no genuine interest in what our children need and is only concerned with completing tasks to secure her paycheck. If you’re looking for a charter school that truly cares about your child’s education, I strongly urge you to look elsewhere. In our experience, Sage Oak is all about money, not students.

Two years ago we started our homeschool journey. My family and so were prompted to do so, due to Bills being passed affecting public schools. Also, student to teacher ratio, etc. We are a VLA family and so far love Sage Oak.

We were a little nervous enrolling our 12 year old in Sage Oaks 6th grade program. We started off in the Personalize Learning Academy (PLA) and it was a struggle adjusting. Mrs. Jester was his main teacher. She is fabulous! Very kind, patient, and understanding towards our situation and son. She went above and beyond and was always open to our questions and concerns. She did such a great job with our son! We're grateful to have a genuine caring teacher like her. She will be missed! My wife and I both work from home so it was a struggle to physically and consistently give the proper guidance and instructions our son needed during learning hours. After struggling with the PLA program, we decided to switch our son to the Virtual Learning Academy (VLA). So far it's going great! If you can provide the hands on attention your child WILL need, PLA is a great choice and a very flexible program. If you think your child needs the hands on attention and support but you get pretty busy, I recommend looking into the VLA program. It's a lot of work for the parents both ways but I'll be honest, we're not Math or Science teachers! The VLA was just a better fit for our situation. With that said, Thank you Mrs. Jester for all your support and guidance! You made our transition super easy. Even though you're no longer our son's teacher, we hope to see you again!

This school is complete trash. They can't get the orders for the school supplies right and the administrators are rude and not accommodating whatsoever. This school makes you jump through hoops to even get any help. The teacher was not even knowledgeable in teaching the kids, everything is look on YouTube. Don't teach, just watch a YouTube. Total fail. Do yourself a favor and find a different school.

My son was apart of the sped program at this school and we were treated poorly by the sped department. We went through a major death in my family and they showed absolutely no compassion during this time. They offered my child no support, they just expected him to show up for online classes even though our family was grieving.

My son went through Several SAI teachers within the span of 5 months which heavily impacted his learning time. Their turnover rate is ridiculous and they couldn’t seem to hold onto teachers long enough for my child to become adjusted. They were very unorganized and services were handled in a unprofessional manner.

I deeply regret my decision to put my child in this school. Now I understand why the teachers kept quitting within weeks of starting. They are not equip to handle children with special needs.

Fantastic. They offer a wide variety of curriculum choices (for elementary school) so you can find what learning style works best for your family. They also have a large pool of community providers, from dance to karate to music and more; so many choices! An excellent, professional staff that always got back to me in a timely manner.

At this point I'm not sure if this school is legit. My son went here for two years. When it was time to transfer to another school no transcripts were available.
