I stayed for 4 days at this camp but I got sick on the last 2 days, still by far 4 of my best days. The hikes were exciting, the counselors were kind and patient, they would tell fun stories and plus the food was good unlike some others camps I have been to.

My daughter recently went to Thousand Pines with her school. The only thing she did there is hang out with her friends, play in the snow, learn about animals and reptiles for one day and played indoor games. They DID NOT do archery or rock climbing or night hikes or campfires or get to gaze at the stars and learn about astrology as was what was written on the Thousand Pines pamphlet. The food wasnโ€™t good. She explained to me the pizza was the celeste pizza. The eggs were inedible and runny. The country gravy they have with breakfast made 2 of her friends vomit, luckily she didnโ€™t have any. All the food that was there was cheap and flavorless. This was very shocking and disappointing to find out from my daughter. My older boys went to this camp in the mid 2000โ€™s and they were able to enjoy everything and had a great time. Back then they had great food. My boys raved about how it was buffet style and they had a delicious selection of food like chicken strips, mac n cheese and real tasting burgers and pizza. Food kids enjoy and will actually eat. But now things have changed. I will never again say its a great place and experience because they either changed ownership or the camp staff doesnโ€™t really care to give the kids a great overall experience or its just about making money and not memories for kids. Whatever it is, I know my grandkids, nieces and nephews will not be going there when they are 12. I gave it 2 stars because my daughter really liked her room camp counselor Emily. She said she was really nice. She also enjoyed bonding with her friends at night. But thatโ€™s it. Food and overall experience is a thumbs down.
