We started Melody out at Katy Sylvan in Kindergarten to help her expand her reading skills. We fast forward to now, 2024, she’s in Second grade and confidently reads out loud and has started reading chapter books!! We are extremely proud of her hard work and the dedication of the staff and teachers! #alwaysbegrowing

This place is fantastic. When we moved to Katy my son was definitely behind. After less than a year he is more than 1 grade level ahead per the metrics from school assessments. I highly recommend Sylvan. They are great with my son and they did a great job personalizing a curriculum to best maximize his success

My son really enjoyed coming here. He only went for a month during the summer but he was excited to go every week. Not only did he enjoy, he told me several times that he rather go there than school; and I agree. If we have the opportunity, we will definitely return. Thanks guys! My daughter who is in the 3rd grade have been going to the Sylvan of Katy for a few months now. The teachers and experience has help her advance in areas she was lacking. The teachers really work and take there time to make sure my daughter understands and get the work. I love the location since it really close to home and convenient to get go and around a lot of places. I recommend any parent thinking of bettering their child/children skills, to try Sylvan of Katy first.

We had the most horrendous and horrible experience this past Saturday. The Center Director Jeanie accused me of bringing in marijuana. It was my 6 yr old first session at this facility. He was very excited so we arrived early, as I thought I might have to fill out some paper work. We arrived at 9:42 am and thought the building might be closed, so we sat in the car. Another car pulled up and the man in the car walked into the building, so we thought the building was open. When we walked in we were greeted by the Center Director Jeanie and she proceed to ask my son to use hand sanitizer. Apparently that was not enough, so she walked him to the back and proceeded to wash his hands for him. She told him he needed to do that every time. We then walked back to the front, Jeanie let my son know the instructors name and stated to him "you are early, you know this isn't a daycare" I was standing behind them and I said "Yes, we are aware of that." I let her know I thought there might be some paperwork I needed to fill out. So we began to walk to the front office and as she passed the threshold she said loudly, "That's not mine!" "Is that yours?" "Did you drop that?" I couldn't tell what she was looking at and as I got closer I noticed it was marijuana on the floor. She proceeded to call another instructor, the man that had walked in before us and tell him he was her witness. That she had swept the floor and nothing was there and it wasn't hers so it must be mine. I could not even think straight at what was happening. I called my husband and we decided this was not the place for us. I asked for a refund and she said nothing. I called the corporate offices and I received a full refund 3 days later, with an excuse email about how its the business next doors fault that marijuana gets in their building, so apparently that is suppose to suffice for their Center Director Jeanie accusing clients of bringing in drugs. Prior to that it took a month for her to call me back after my sons assessment. So I called the m and it took another week, and I called them again and complained for her to answer my call. I wasn't wanted there and she made it very clear. I was to stupid to take the hint. The experience she gave my son is not made better by doing the bare minimum. I only gave them a one star because I had to in order to post this.

I just wanted to share that we had a wonderful experience using this center. It really helped both children catch up with school and in one case even move into better classes. It always felt like the children were important to the teachers and staff. Definitely recommend.
