As an attendee of the Take Flight training and a recent college graduate beginning my first year of teaching, I believe that I have learned more about dyslexia and reading than I ever did throughout my four years of college. I am so fortunate to be completing this training before educating the future of America. I would encourage all educators to complete this training in order to effectively teach their students and provide them with opportunities to succeed. Our 13 year old dyslexic daughter has been a weekly student at The Written Word for over 1.5 years. Tara Chapman has been a wonderful tutor and the results have been truly remarkable. Our daughter’s instruction was geared specifically to address her great difficulty with writing and her skill level has progressed from barely being able to piece together a sentence to completing a research paper. To us, this is astounding. Tara’s calm, cheerful and encouraging personality enhanced her structured teaching methods. Our daughter never complains about working with a tutor (even thru the summer)-indeed, she enjoys working with Mrs. Chapman and looks forward to her sessions. We are thrilled with the results and give The Written Word and Tara Chapman our highest recommendation.

The coursework I received from The Written Word was by far the most beneficial training I have taken in my 20 years as an educator.
The knowledge and skills I gained over the 2 years have significantly helped me support the students I service. I highly recommend this training for all teachers and specialists who teach literacy. Our students deserve this exceptional instruction.
