After having attended an out of state law school and failing the July 2023 California bar exam, I knew I needed guidance to help me tackle the February 2024 bar exam. I reached out to Daniel in May/june in anticipation of taking the CA bar exam. I know myself and tend to need a bit of an extra push sometimes with test preparation and scheduling. Daniel was incredible and was exactly what I was looking for—direct, regimented, and knew the law like the back of his hand (which was really important when I just had a quick question during session on a rules statement or something). His program is very structured which I found to be comforting and also focused on memorization early on which I don’t believe barbri or other similar prep programs did. The memorization early on made me much more confident entering the test. If you are not prepared to do the work up front from the beginning, his program isn’t for you but I found it EXTREMELY helpful when July rolled around. He additionally is super helpful in improving your performance test writing, a subject on the bar that I think is frequently put on the back burner. I passed on the first time with Daniel’s help. Like many others, Daniel was one of my first calls when I failed the California Bar Exam on my first attempt, and my first call when I passed on my second.

I enrolled with one of the lead bar prep companies when I studied the first time, but the structure of the curriculum and the amount of passive studying never worked for me (as hard as I tried). I was overwhelmed by the volume of material up until test day and I did not have a test day strategy that actually worked for *me*. Despite completing 95% of my commercial bar prep course (putting well over 500 hours into bar prep), I still failed.

There are three things that Daniel offered that I attribute to my success. First, Daniel never insisted that one particular approach to learning the material was the "best" or "correct" approach. Daniel meets his students where they are, and does an incredible job designing and refining study plans based on each student's needs and learning styles.

Second, the depth of Daniel's feedback on practice essays and performance tests is invaluable. His feedback is extremely clear and is the most extensive feedback on my writing that I've received in either my academic or professional careers. Daniel's close review and his ability to identify recurring strengths/weaknesses enabled me to maximize points on the written portion of the bar.

Finally, Daniel makes the volume of material covered on the bar exam manageable. Whereas most prep companies emphasize "memorizing as much as possible," Daniel instead emphasizes understanding the law. With Daniel's approach to mastering the material, I remembered all the rules I needed on test day because I actually understood the law, not because I attempted to memorize a stack of 1,000 flashcards.

This is all to say that Daniel is a literal godsend to all victims of the California bar exam. I was pretty distraught when I first reached out to Daniel. He extended compassion, understood my disappointment, but was sure to never let me feel sorry for myself or get distracted from my ultimate goal.

I cannot recommend Daniel's bar tutoring services enough! I signed up with Daniel for the NY bar exam in 2024. He taught me how to write as a lawyer and pass the bar. I used to score 100-110 in the writing portion, but after tutoring with Daniel, I scored 140.

Dan was organized. We sat up a monthly schedule for each topic. Every week, I sent at least one essay, so he corrected it before our meeting and told me where and what are my weaknesses. To sum up, I recommend him for new candidates who want to improve scores for UBE jurisdiction.
