Maggie has been tutoring my son in math for the last couple months. Prior to signing on with Maggie, I met with her to see if she would be a good fit for my son. I stressed to her how important it is to relate to him on a personal as well as professional level. Maggie does just that. She is a teacher by trade, and she just "gets it". She uses analogies that interest him (SPORTS), and she keeps him very engaged during their time together. She even has him rate his participation at the end of every session. I keep her informed regarding the material he is working on in class, and I make copies of his tests so she can review with him and correct his mistakes. After every session, Maggie sends a very detailed summary via email outlining specific details including what concepts my son is grasping/excelling in and where he needs more assistance. In never have to guess how the session went and what the plan is moving forward. It is clear Maggie loves what she does, and she's excited to see my son continue to grow in his math abilities. Best of all - he doesn't complain about having to go. I couldn't recommend her more!

Maggie has been working with my 8th grade son for the past few months. She has helped him work on his math skills, and also working on his confidence when test taking. He enjoys working with her, and never complains about going to see the tutor! She truly is invested in the success of my son, and her help has been invaluable!

We have loved our experience their TutorOnUp! Ms Catherine has met our expectations beyond. My 7 year old ENJOYS his sessions as she makes it fun and always incorporating games into what they are working on. She takes his interests and easily mixes in the learning each week. Never has he complained for having an added hour of learning after school on Mondays, as he doesn’t see it that way one bit!
I think it could be really difficult at this age, as they just want to play with their friends after school, but it has never been, and I would say he actually looks forward to it. Ms Catherine gives a detailed report of what they do which clues me in a little bit to his participation that week and what they were working on… She has been great and so very glad we have been connected!
