Igor must be the best math tutor in the history of this universe! Both my son and my daughter have worked extensively with Igor, resulting in perfect math standardized test scores for both and, even more importantly, a truly deep understanding of mathematical problem solving. SAT Math was quite manageable for our kids after working with Igor, and perfect scores were easy for our son and daughter to achieve. Igor's math tutoring is about far more than test scores, however. He teaches how to think mathematically, how to use different approaches to solve a problem, and how to truly understand mathematical thinking. Once those concepts are grasped, the problem solving for "ordinary" math like the SAT becomes quite easy. He has inspired in our son and our daughter an incredible and well-earned math confidence and a genuine desire to become great in math. Both of our kids are outstanding math students at their schools, thanks to the background that Igor gave them. Our daughter is currently at MIT, and she is absolutely thriving in math there, thanks in part to the background Igor gave her in the past in Calculus. Our son is at an elite math high school and also doing extremely well. Thanks to Igor’s help, he has begun to really excel at math competitions, qualifying for the AIME this year and earning a wonderfully high score at the national ARML competition on the individual test.

Igor can take an above average student and help them become extraordinary. But I also referred him recently to a friend of mine whose son was struggling in math, and Igor was able to help his son become capable and confident in math. I am pretty sure that Igor could take any below-average or struggling math student and help them achieve confidence and competence in math. One of the great things about his math tutoring center is that Igor has a team of fantastic tutors who back him up and all teach the same way he does. His method of teaching is more efficient and easier for students to grasp than math in schools. He helps the kids understand WHY the different methods of problem-solving work, and that helps them become confident problem solvers in general and to have several ways to attack any problem. Igor required a lot from our kids, but he has a great sense of humor and fun while he is cracking the whip. Our kids absolutely love him, and he changed their lives. I recommend him highly and equally to anyone with a child who wants to become great in math or whose child is struggling with math. If anyone can help a good math student become great or a poor math student become strong, it is Igor. His service is one-of-a-kind and second to none.

I started attending Washington University in St. Louis’ School of Engineering and Applied Science in the fall of 2015. One of the first courses I took was Calculus II—an infamously difficult class. When I told my father the name of my professor, I learned that he was the very same professor my father had 35 years ago when he attended the university. Throughout the semester, I kept hearing my father’s horror stories of struggling and receiving subpar grades in the class, and I started to worry.

Fortunately for me, Igor was there to help me. At the end of the semester, I finished with an A in the class--something not many students achieve. Without Igor, I never would have received such a good grade, and I would not have developed such a great understanding of calculus which has been a valuable asset to me throughout my continued studies at the Engineering School.

Physics is hard and I found that out quickly as I started my senior year. I don’t usually struggle in classes, but I was getting Ds and Fs on my tests and was unable to do most of the complicated homework problems, and it was making me really freak out. Working with Naima could not have been a better experience. She is extremely patient with me when explaining concepts and the solutions to questions. Naima has the ability to make me easily understand what my physics teacher made look like rocket science. Not only that, but she is always willing to go the extra mile by helping me with questions that I texted her, providing extra practice problems, or letting me borrow tests to work on in preparation for the exam. I am happy to report that because of her tutoring and her strategies on how to study, I ended with over a 100% in my last trimester of physics.

I have never struggled with math—quite the opposite. That is why when I wanted to find a tutor for competition math, I am thankful that I found Igor. The relationship that I formed with him through my competition math experience grew as I started my later years of high school. With the help of his recommendations and tutoring, I achieved a 36 on my ACT Math (and a 35 overall) and an 800 on my SAT Subject Math Level 2. In my junior year, I asked Igor for a favor: to help me learn AB and BC Calculus at the same time so I could skip a grade in math. Throughout the year, Igor taught me the BC Calculus curriculum with great determination and intelligence as I learned AB Calculus at school. He provided me with extra materials and walked me through problems. Our efforts ultimately paid off, as I received a 5 on the BC exam and promptly skipped the class. I became one of only two girls in an elite eight-person Vector Calculus class where my knowledge and love for math grew. I learned valuable 3D Calculus methods and we did Integration Problems of the Day to keep our problem-solving minds sharp. With Igor helping me not only struggle through, but truly understand, Vector Calculus, I felt that I had a real advantage as I progressed and did very well in the class.

My experiences with Igor through competition math and Calculus have cemented my love of mathematics. I have decided to major in Biomedical Engineering next year as a freshman at Duke University, and I can’t help but credit Igor for helping get me here.
