Matt has a fantastic in depth understanding of mathematics, but he's even better at translating this into English. What's most enjoyable about working with him is that you come out having a real, true understanding of how and why everything works the way it does, leaving you without the need to just regurgitate material in class and leaving you more with a feeling of solid comprehension. Matt is like a boxing trainer for mathematics, he'll turn you into a fighter and increase your stamina for breaking apart and solving complex problems. I was struggling in algebra at Austin Community College (been out of school for over 14 yrs due to the military), I wanted to find a tutor that could actually explain these concepts to me in a way that I could understand. Matt is phenomenal at translating word problems and explaining what is happening every step of the way. His approach to mathematics allowed me to feel empowered about tackling any type of math problem out there. We have been working on SAT/ACT problems now for less than two weeks, I have already started to enjoy actually working on all the problems over and over again. It is now fun. This has been one of the best learning experiences I have ever had in an academic environment.
