I had a great experience at Avel to complete my flight dispatcher training. The instructors along with the administrative staff were quick to assist and prepared me well for my dispatcher licensing exam (I passed my exam recently).

For potential dispatcher students, there is a lot of individual work near the beginning of classes that coincides with instructor training. However, it pairs very well, and my instructor always took the time to clarify any areas that I had questions about. Small class size provided more time for focused study sessions which I enjoyed. It was a friendly and open place and I wish the best to any thinking about pursuing their dispatcher license.

My experience with Avel Flight school as an international student has been phenomenal .I was enrolled in the commercial flight training program and got all my licenses right from the initial private pilot till commercial pilot license.
The ground school training is well structured , which gives a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical skills .This builds a foundation for understanding the concepts . The staff is exceptionally professional and supportive, creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment. Moreover, the school places a significant emphasis on flight safety. I had an amazing opportunity to learn from the best flight instructors throughout my course.
I re-enrolled in this school for the Aircraft dispatcher course because of their outstanding success rate and the school is committed to ensuring that the students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to clear the exams.
Overall, I highly recommend Avel flight school to anyone looking to pursue a career in aviation . My time at the school has been incredibly rewarding, and I feel well prepared for the next steps in my flying journey.

It has been excellent with Avel. I completed my private to commercial training at Avel. As an international student, the school provided me with the support, encouragement, and motivation I needed. I had a great time flying and studying there. The instructors were friendly and supportive, always ready to teach whenever I had a doubt. During my training, I also learned about the Aircraft Dispatcher course and enrolled in it, successfully completing the program.

Because it has been so positive with Avel, I decided to enroll in their flight instructor course as well. Avel has not disappointed me with the flight instructor program; it's going really well. I would strongly recommend this school for anyone aspiring to become a pilot, particularly international student wanting to come and fly in the US.

The full school commercial pilot license program will cost around $45,640 if you pay the full amount up front. It may be that this school has the lowest cost rate in the Midwest for people with a limited budget. Never-the-less, the school tells the students that they are on their own by doing self-study reading. They don’t have any demonstration class that explains anything in regard to necessary FAA written, or oral tests. Because of that, the school is almost empty. This school attracts foreigners from overseas due to the false advertisement of low tuition. English is the second language for most of the flight instructors at this school. Please be advised that you may have difficulty understanding their limited vocabulary. English is not the first language for most of teachers. Students need to know that in order to study the private pilot book, they have to work on understanding 11 chapters that may take up to 6-8 weeks of dedicated hard work study, persistence math practice, and calculations.
Unfortunately it was very hard to understand any instructor due to the language barrier, and their lack of knowledge in English and aviation science. The instructors do not follow the school’s chosen curriculum that is based on Gleim Aviation. Be aware that their airplane fleet was shrunk down to only 2 planes and one of them is always in the hanger for maintenance or repair issues. The school is currently struggling due to the lack of students from overseas. Most of Chicagoans are able to leave the school without notice or permission from the U.S government. I truly feel sorry for international students who have no option but to rely on self-educating which is usually NOT enough to pass any FAA test, whether written or oral, before even flying for a check ride. Please be aware that you will not be able to graduate for the low price of $45,640. The school will make you fly more, so you pay more. The listed price of $45,640 for CPL, with no experience might be the lowest rate structure 141 school in the Chicago greater area, however don’t be surprised to find out that most of the instructors are barley qualified to help you pass any FAA test. This means whether written, oral, and even flying solo with confidence.

I wanted to go to Avel flight school to become an aircraft dispatcher and also because they accepted the gi bill for veterans. The VA asked them to change some things (which wasn’t much) in order for me to attend and they didn’t want to comply. They also wanted me to pay out of pocket first and then the VA will send me the money for the school but that’s not how the VA works. When trying to figure out the status of the changes so I can officially start my application, the school was not replying to emails nor phone calls. Since they did not comply with the simple changes that they were nicely asked to do, I did not attend and waisted months of my time just to try and attend!! They are very unprofessional and the VA will no longer be accepting them. Highly wouldn’t recommend this school.

To address avel comment below. There are no inaccuracies in my review. Everything I said is correct.
You don’t have VA approval for aircraft’s dispatchers anymore, only pilots. You say you “actively engaged in navigating new parameters set by the VA but it took a longer than expecting” but could not answer my phone call for the status of the process or even give an estimate on how long everything will take. It was like no one is ever in the office. I waited MONTHS to try to get in this school. If you really want a student in the school, you will keep them informed on what’s going on.

I recently joined Avel Flight School and i can say that my experience so far has been fantastic. The ground school is very informative as the teaching personnel makes sure you are prepared for the examinations. The flying aspect of this school is also very good. Overall, I would recommend Avel Flight School to anyone seeking a private pilot license - it prepares you well for all the examinations and helps you gather the experience and skill required to become a good pilot. I am very thrilled that I joined this particular school. I have taken the decision after carefully assessing other schools in this field and today i am happy that i made a good decision in joining Avel Flight School. All the best to all the staffs and instructors at the school.

If I could leave 10 stars, I definitely would! I just completed my flight attendant certification scoring 100% on my final exit exam! My experience as a flight attendant student in their virtual, on-line Cabin Crew Certification Course, from initial inquiry and communications with Cassandra (office manager) to 1-on-1 course training with Prashanth (Avel owner and chief pilot), was excellent! Their program is aimed for their students to complete the course successfully with the knowledge and competence required to become a flight attendant. The course format was very organized, engaging, and professional yet personalized. In addition, something I found unique to their program, is their focus on preparing you for success with your interview process at the end of the course! I can without a doubt say, I not only feel 100% confident in going forward to becoming a competent flight attendant, but I have also enjoyed their certification program so much! One of the best flight school, instructors are very calm and much talented in aviation field knowledge. prashant sir has given us immense knowledge of flight dispatcher he has even taught us small minute details of each and every perspective. Highly recommended flight school.
