This year was nice! We arrived on the first week to do some merit badges. I tented with my friend and thought we had to sleep right next to each other because bug nets were having Trouble reaching the wood beam at the top of the tent. This year was not as bad as last year and though it rained a lot on Thursday and we had to rush to move all of our stuff in our tents so it wouldn't get soaked. We even dominated the troop wide games this year getting first in almost everything and at least one scout made the top three in every event. Also Fred hoity toilets was also great so we can have good bathrooms at camp (thank you Fred)! The slushies this year was an amazing idea and I had one every day. Overall I had a fun time this year and made some memories with my fellow scouts. Troop 19 best you've seen!

What an amazing place! The staff is super helpful, lots to do for the troops, the food was yummy, pool looked inviting and the trails fun! There is a visitors nite (usually a Wednesday) and volunteers are always welcome to help keep the BSA Camp going!! Absolutely a lovely, peaceful place to learn the "ropes" for life!

What makes a great Scout camp is not the facilities but the staff. The staff is hard to beat anywhere. It rained all but the last day while we were here with our troop. Due to the staff? Despite the weather the boys had a wonderful time anyway. I can't give them a better compliment than that.

Beautiful area. Very clean and well kept. If it had some indoor bathrooms I would give it 5 stars. I understand it's a camp but this woman visiting her son at camp needs a toilet that flushes!

Just spent a week there with my Troop. I would do anything to relive it. Trevor and Samuel were the best merit badge councilors. Dylan and Josh made the meals all the better with the riveting conversations they started and the new inside jokes we made. Thank you for all the memories I now have.

The rest of the camp is pretty nice and staff were friendly. But upon arrival the one place they put us was in an area where they told us had flooded and it had piles of rocks everywhere and the rest of the ground was covered in rocks, weeds and walnuts. We made due with what we had and still had a good time. Something really needs to be done to clean up the area.

Update: within one day of this review a nice gentleman named Dan from the Blackhawk Council contacted me and we were told that there was a miscommunication and we should have never been placed at that site. Everything was resolved to the troops satisfaction. I am very happy this was fixed so quickly and it could not have gone smoother. Thanks again Dan!

Did my OA Ordeal here and have summer camped before here too. Bathrooms are better than some at other camps, but high humidity and moisture make things near impossible to dry. Also, high hills and rough terrain led to my troop nicknaming one of the hills "suicide hill".
