The staff is friendly and the pool is always clean. The gymnastics area is a fun place my daughter loves to go in and play. If you are looking for a great place to have a birthday party give this location a serious look.

We love the facilities at the Duis center. Everything is always clean and well kept, and the instructors for gymnastics and swimming are phenomenal. Chloe, Hazel, Maggie, and Olivia are always so patient with my kids and I'm so thankful for that.

I brought my nine-year-old son, who is a competitive swimmer to the Duis center for lap swimming. My son swims all four strokes competitively and swims the 50 meter freestyle in about 45 seconds. I was going to swim next to him, and his mother was going to be watching from the pool deck. However, he was not allowed to swim during lap swim times, and we were told that anyone under 16 is not allowed to swim during lap swimming times at the Duis center. This was not published anywhere in the Sterling Park District's brochure. We were told that this policy is in force because there is no lifeguard on duty during lap swim time. This leads me to ask two questions: 1. Don't lap swimmers also need a lifeguard? What happens if they get in trouble? and 2. Aren't there also children in the community under 16 who would want to be able to comfortably lap swim during lap swim times rather than fighting the public for use of a lane during the open swim times (This is the only time that we were told that my son could use the pool.)? Is the lifeguard then supposed to tell these children who want to swim to be fit that they cannot lap swim during open swim times? Must a child under 16 (whose family has paid to join the pool) be made to join a swim team to be able to swim for fitness? Again, the Duis center and the park district need to seriously reconsider some of their UNBPUBLISHED policies and what the community and their customers' social and fitness needs are. Unfortunately, there are few alternatives in this community where one can go for swimming, and the weight lifting facilities at Westwood are world class. I would hope that the community oriented organization that is the Sterling Park District could also rise to the level of their facilities in the design and administration of their policies.

Had a great Birthday Party at the Rec Center. Staff was very helpful in making our party go on with out a hitch. This was our 2nd party held at the Rec and we will be back again in the future. Thanks again!

Another facility provided by the Sterling Park District. This location provides a pretty good exercise room with multiple machines. It's not usually anywhere near full. A great landed swimming pool is available when thee local school teams are not practicing or having invitational meets. A 2-meter dive pool is separate from the main pool. Another large gym hosts tumbling lessons and girls gymnastics. Great little place, plenty of parking and modest pricing for daily use or annual membership.

Only because the covid rules. No chairs to sit because apparently others ruined it for us for not being 6ft so I had to stand or leave my daughter alone there which I wouldn't mind to i guess being she is 8 and the staff is awesome but she loves it when I can watch her during her gymnastics/tumbling class so I typically stay. Now I guess I could use the equipment upstairs but hard to see her from there. Guess this is the new "normal".

Awful place! I started going here to swim in April 2019 and the last time I went was March 14th of this year. I had a swimming punch card that had a deal like 30 swims for 100 dollars and every time I would go, whoever was working at the front desk would always give me a different number of swims I have used and swims I have left. One time back in February of this year, I probably had about 15 swims left and this older lady at the front desk was like “You only have 1 swim remaining. Do you want to add more swims?” Absolutely ridiculous! Another problem there is that the last few months I was going, the womens’ locker room was dirty. In the changing area with the big bench, there was always a whole bunch of black bugs! I reported it to the front desk numerous times and they said they’d do something, but looks like they didn’t. I eventually stopped reporting it, as a result of nothing being done about it. The locker room is also too small. Besides the area that had the bugs, the other changing areas did not have a big bench where you could put your clothes and stuff, so I had to put them on the dirty floor. Also, one of the changing areas is like RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR WHERE YOU GET IN!! I mean like...everyone in the hall can see you changing if you are in that changing area!! The worst issue I had there was involving this creepy man. I saw him back on February 1st, February 29th, and March 14th (the last time I went). He kept trying to get near me in the pool the entire time and was saying lewd and awful things to me! He also put his towel and flip flops over my stuff! I actually had previous issues with him at the Y.M.C.A. None of the lifeguards that were there those days stepped in and did anything: seeing him constantly trying to get near me and hearing all the garbage he was saying to me! Last few months I went, the big basketball for the basketball hoop in the pool was also getting really light and had a big rip in it. I also wish that there had been more pool toys. I am never ever ever planning on going back to this place ever again!

Great environment and love everything about their gymnastics and swimming programs here, the cleanliness of the staff and overall smiles they hold everyday us a reason to keep coming back. The only thing they lack at this point is a skatepark that used to be there but can't have it all in the amazing community of sterling
