This is a place right near the Lincoln tomb so if you are visiting the tomb swing by this place. This is someone's connection that they are sharing with the public and wow it is a fantastic collection. It is free to enter but you can make a donation if you wish to. They had some cute cats running around and they just laid on the floor in front of me wanting to be pet. Some of the planes are open that you can sit in and take pictures. I will come here again that's for sure. This is on my list of places to see in Springfield if you are there... check it out. Any questions just ask!

Amazing collection of WW2 aircraft. This organization not only collects, but restores the aircraft, so you might see them in various states of disassembly. The volunteers are very friendly and are happy to share what they know. Also, this is your opportunity to sit in a MIG cockpit.

Fantastic small public museum that has some incredible restored airplanes. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Easy to spend an hour or so looking at the displays and memorabilia. Learned some new things about WWII and other era aircrafts. This museum is free, but donations are welcome and helpful. T-shirts and other small items are available for purchase. We'll definitely stop again the next time we're in the area!
