I am delighted to write this review for Kweller Prep, which played a crucial role in my child's acceptance to Sophie Davis Medical School. My child also took SAT classes at Kweller, which were immensely beneficial in preparing for the exam and significantly boosting their scores. Kweller Prep’s educational program is comprehensive, offering tailored tutoring that aligns with individual learning styles and needs. We just went on a Kweller tour of Brooklyn Tech. Very worthwhile. Well run by the students. Our 2 student guides were so helpful. Huge school but they made it seem very manageable. So impressed.

I started hearing about Kweller Prep when my daughter was in 5th grade. My daughter had been attending Kumon since first grade and needed a change but I thought the Queens location was just a bit too far. So, I enroller her into the Manhattan location for the Hunter prep course in 6th grade. The material was very challenging even though my daughter had attended a Gifted and Talented elementary school. I told her to stick it out every day until finally the light went off and she picked up momentum. Unfortunately, the quality of parents in Manhattan were not to my taste. I witnessed many nitpicking parents whose children would resort to blaming children in the program for distracting them when they didn't score well in practice exams. My pleasant child was among those wrongfully accused. Consequently, I decided to take the trek into Queens. It was the very best choice I could have made for my daughter. The Queens location is a comfortable, nurturing and well equipped location that provides unlimited snacks and attention to the students studying there. I loved the fact that parents are kept at a distance so that the children can focus on what they came to do, which is study, learn and succeed. Every student teacher I have met has been no less than star quality, all of whom are in either Ivy league universities, working with Kweller Prep part-time, both sharing their experiences, wisdom and acting as the ultimate role models. My daughter has flourished enormously at Kweller Prep where she was preparing for the Specialized High School Examination since January 2017. It was a long hall that required much commitment from her as well as me and my husband because the course took place during the weekends and summer weeks and in the evenings afterschool until late October 2018. But the journey couldn't have been more fulfilling. During the summer, Kweller Prep hosted trips to Princeton, Yale and Harvard as well as to the Specialized High Schools giving purpose and direction to all of the students who attended the trips on what all of the work was intended to prepare them to achieve - admission into one of the most sought after seats in a Specialized Highschool so that, ultimately, they could shoot for the Ivy League. The experience taught us that being a part of Kweller Prep made us a part of a supportive, academic, success oriented community of hard working and talented students and families who recognize that achievement is only accomplished with hard work and commitment. The bottom line is that while my daughter began her SHSAT prep getting only 20 out of 57 questions correct when she started, by the end of the course she was getting between 45 and 52 correct every-time she took a practice test and believe me when I say there were many! There were even additional free practice tests offered closer to the exam that were simply amazing. When my daughter took the exam at Stuyvesant, she came out of building at the end of the exam feeling joyful and confident among children crying, devastated and bewildered. She said the prep material was much more difficult than the Kweller Prep material because the prep math had more multiple step problems and more complicated reading comprehension sections than the actual SHSAT exam. She said she had time to not only finish all of the exam sections completely but time to go back and check each one and still wait to take the next sections. She said absolutely nothing on the exam that she was seeing for the first time and that frankly it was way easier than what she was doing at Kweller Prep. I am completely sold on the value and expertise of the Kweller Prep philosophy and academic strategies. I plan to spend a lot more money her to ensure that my daughter gets the highest scores possible on any tests she takes including the Regents and much anticipated SATs. I am so happy with Francis Kweller's passion for academic excellence. Keep up the great work Francis!

Our family had a great experience with Kweller Prep. Even though we we did not get started as early as we would have liked before the test (not advised! start early if you can :-), Kweller helped with webinar sessions in advance so that we could get the most out of the cram course. That was key and we were able to practice before going into the course. We still needed more prep after that and worked with a wonderful Kweller tutor, Olga Pinkasova, for several sessions. Olga gave clear explanations and personalized advice. Frances and her team were supportive and informative. We highly recommend Kweller Prep.

Our experience with Kweller has been great. The tutors were very helpful. They increased our son's chances of getting into his dream school! He took two courses and got accepted to Bronx Science (2024)!! Kweller is definitely a great tutoring service, and I would recommend Kweller to anyone. It's worth every penny!

Kweller Prep was fantastic at working with my son Demyan to grow his language and math skills. Kweller is the best tutoring service we have ever known in NYC! We tried several of them, but only Kweller gave Demyan what he needed and was rigorous enough to prepare him to succeed in the SHSAT test. Demyan achieved a fantastic score (allowing him to get an offer from any Specialized HS! ) and he was accepted by Brooklyn Tech as he wanted! Being a first-generation immigrant, I was always confused by the intricate education system in New York City and still do not know/understand many crucial aspects of it. I was always thinking of finding a group that would help me and my child navigate this system in order to understand and act upon future steps with respect to his education. My dream came true with Kweller Prep, as it is not only helping kids to succeed academically, but it is doing outstanding work in helping families navigate through the system and educating them.

Kweller Prep is truly committed to providing remarkable tutoring services. The tutors, (including Frances Kweller and her fantastic Zoom webinars!), that we have had the distinct pleasure of meeting want to see all of their students succeed. Working in-person and virtually by Zoom, it has been indeed a gratifying experience for my son to work with such gifted intellectuals as Tasnim, Farib, Kathryn, Olga, Mo Khan. Kweller was literally a part of our family for the last 2 years of preparation leading up to taking the SHSAT this year. Frances organized a birthday surprise (basket of fruits!) for my son’s 13 th birthday as an example.

The notion that teaching and learning is an art, is one that we think Kweller Prep is proud of. Personally, our family is grateful to be involved with a team that puts the individual’s needs first, and accompanies them throughout their journey!
