When my daughter was failing math, we initially thought she wasn’t trying hard enough. But we learned she was struggling, since Covid and could not comprehend math virtually.

We went to Sylvan to get assistance and support for math on a one to one basis. Within a few months with Mr. Josh my daughter excelled and was able to understand math easier. She was more confident in how she approached taking notes and processing math problems. We were proud to see how fast she brought her grades up. Even scoring 72% higher than the NC students who took the state exam. We were very proud and grateful for the guidance, encouragement, and support that she received here. We couldn’t be more appreciative!

Sylvan has been a great experience for my son. We currently got to Sylvan 3x a week and that can be challenging with school and sports. At times my son can get frustrated and Sylvan is very good about trying different strategies to ensure his sessions are a positive learning experience. The staff is very friendly and offers a safe learning environment. They are open to receiving feedback and customize my son's learning experience to his strengths while considering his weakness as new goals to work towards. As a parent, I appreciate the monthly conferences to discuss his progress and the opportunity to engage our teacher at any point throughout the year. I am happy to be apart of the Garner Sylvan family!

This past March we found ourselves in a spot of needing ACT/SAT prep . We were referred to Sylvan by a friend and it has been the best experience! The staff is awesome especially Quiniqua. She went above and beyond to help my daughter in not only boosting her ACT/Sat scores but her confidence in herself . My daughter improved her ACT score by 4 points and her SAT score by 100 points . We would absolutely recommend Sylvan. My daughter also had help in applying to college and writing her essay . My daughter attended Sylvan in between kindergarten and first grade. Her teacher wanted to give her reading tutoring but I liked how Sylvan could help her in every subject. What a great decision that was! She had a great first grade year and I believe it was because she was so well prepared. My son started at Sylvan when he was 4 years old to help him prepare for his kindergarten evaluation. I was a little worried at first as he had never been to day care or preschool and was in speech therapy. I tried working with him myself, like I did my daughter, but he did not enjoy flash cards like she did, which left us both disappointed. I am so happy to say today that he has been accepted to kindergarten! He knows all his colors, shapes, numbers and letters and he knows how to spell his name! Every tutoring session he earns points and cashes in for prizes, kinda like an arcade, which was great motivation for him. The staff at Sylvan has ALWAYS been warm, friendly and inviting. The facility is nice and clean. I like how I can schedule tutoring session times that are convenient for our whole family and work around extracurricular activities. Siblings can share hours too. I really could go on and on. I have nothing but good things to say! Thank you Sylvan of Garner!

Our son had an amazing turn around after a difficult quarter in 3rd grade. His writing improved dramatically and he enjoys reading so much more.
