I have been transferred from Arturo Velasquez Southwest institute for English classes 5 level and I don’t know what happened but I was in Richard Daley this morning Saturday 15,2025 to take my first class, of course I had to be in the office first, because they were supposed to call me and let me know about my classroom and my instructor, in the office they’d let me know that I am out of the system, that I need to back until May for new registrations and also I got a complaint about the lady at that office She treat people like we are stupid, if we ask questions is because we don’t know and that’s what She is there for

This is a very good city of Chicago college to attend to for people living nearby in the area rather than going downtown when you can get all of the things you need done here at this specific college. They even offer a GED program which is very good to have, despite some other city of Chicago colleges do not have. The community very much appreciates this. THEIR LIBRARY IS PRETTY HUGE AS WELL AS THE CLASSROOMS AND THEY ALSO OFFER ZOOM CLASSES FOR PEOPLE THEY NEED ACCOMMODATIONS IN ORDER TO ATTEND SCHOOL.

Also, the bathrooms are very clean as well as the school with a medium-sized parking lot. You can almost always find a spot to park in. I even have handicap parking for people with disabilities which is always a plus to have.

I'm going to be very blunt here, right off the bat I am not a fan of this school. I registered for fall classes because I qualified for a scholarship in a manufacturing degree. I have not been able to get a hold of anyone in the last 4 days in regards to my college transcripts to see if I do not have to take the placement tests. My student orientation was coming up this following Thursday and I have to reschedule it because I can't get ahold of anyone and the only time they offer placement testing is during my work hours and they are not flexible or willing to accommodate to this. I cannot get ahold of anyone to see if I can skip this process to avoid this hassle. I have talked with people on the phone very rarely and when I do talk with people on the phone I always get some sort of attitude or I get redirected to somewhere else. Quite frankly I feel bad for anyone that goes to the school it has to pay for it. I would be extremely mad if I had to pay $25,000 over the course of two years getting an associates degree for the kind of service I have been receiving. If I wasn't getting this scholarship for free I would have asked for a withdrawal at this point. This kind of service is unacceptable.

This isn't factoring in that I had to tell the recruiter that was walking me through their manufacturing program that I wasn't there for welding courses but for CNC courses multiple times. I had to repeat things to the recruiter several times because he wasn't paying attention to what I was saying to him. A recruiter it's supposed to sell the school on to me, like I said if I wasn't getting these courses for free he would have turned me away instead of sold me on to it. His in inattention and the fact that I had to repeat to him several times what course I was going to take put a sour taste in my mouth. I've gone to multiple community colleges for classes and this is by far the most expensive and the most unorganized one I have seen so far

I am not originally a student from here but I needed to take some credit classes so I was like, okay Richard Daley is close to my house so might as well take them here... that was the worst decision I’ve taken! The teachers are not professional nor do not know how to teach. I had to withdrawal two classes and now I’m stuck paying for both of them! Oh and let’s not forget that they never answer any phone calls! I’ve called so many times and they never answer! The staff is super rude and always give attitude to you. It seems as they hate their job. I will not be coming back here.

If there was a zero star option I would have chosen that. The application process was the worst I've ever encountered in all my years of helping students to enroll in college. The enrollment process at a school in another country was actually easier than dealing with the woefully misinformed, ignorant, rude and unprofessional staff at Daley. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone because of the unorganized application process. One staff member actually never heard of the satellite school - West Side Technical Institute. One staff member sent us to the wrong location. We sent emails of inquiry with no response, spent hours on hold, were disconnected several times and given incorrect information. It took months to obtain any useful information from the angry and tired staff. The registration day was a day of chaos and surly staff members. Such a shame because the classes are good.

Horrible school. Have never seen anything like it before. Admissions process was very slow. Almost everything there is disorganize. Financial Aid office is full of good for nothings. The people there are rude and offer very little help. My advice to you is do not go to this school it would be a waste of time and money.
