Bueaucratic, unrelent disreguard for volunteers. Unresponsive to criticism or even allowing any comment. I like what they are doing but their professionalism is severly lacking. At times it appears that they insult the intelligence of their volunteers. Reading handouts to participants in a meeting is one of the ways they dumb down the content of their instruction. Ther intake program is intelligable.

Literacy connects is one of the most amazing non-profits in Southern Arizona. Aside from promoting high level English literacy for all ages and language speakers, they have built a tremendous sense of community here in the Amphitheatre neighborhood. They have a number of different options for volunteering and are a terrific place for aspiring teachers to learn about and work towards improving literacy for everyone.

I was only there to pick up some items for a friend who works with them as a reading coach in the public schools. However, the items were right there at the reception desk waiting for me to pick them up.
