Even if it was _just_ a library, it'd get 5 stars, because libraries are awesome, but it's also an awesome library. Great staff, comfortable environment as a start. They, of course, have all the books, movies and music you want as well as an. There's also the areas especially for kids and teens, private workspaces, the maker space and the Library of Things. And did I mention the amazing staff?

I visit the library every week and really like it. I can always find the books I'm looking for. My only real issue is with the study room reservation system.

It's easy to reserve a room online, but there's always someone in the room during my reservation time. I end up joining meetings a few minutes late or having to find someplace else to go if the person in the room refuses to leave. I've asked staff for help many times, but they only do what I do, which is knock on the door and let the person know that I'm here for the room.

If there's going to be a reservation system in place, there needs to be a way to ensure that the system is being used properly. I'd recommend the library uses smart locks that lock/unlock based on reservation schedule and a PIN that's sent with the confirmation email so only those with reservations can open the room during their reserved time. If nobody checks in during the first 5-10 minutes, then the room can unlock and be used for walk-ins. I'd also recommend a 5-minute buffer between reservations to give people time to pack up and leave before the next person arrives.

Loves this place. Big and clean. Have a ton of books to read. All the librarian and people who work there are very nice as well. This library has a large children room that kids can play, read and be a kid. Very nice. You also can eat here in their cafe area. Bring your own food. Has parking lot.

This is by far the best Library I have ever been to! Staffs were very friendly and helpful. It’s super clean and spacious. There are so many play areas for the kids to enjoy! I always thought the library closer to my area was the best , but I was so wrong ! Even though you don’t own a Skokie library card you can take part in certain activities.

Skokie Public Library is one of the best! They have multiple floors with study rooms, a kids section, games, teen section, and an adult upper floor. The study rooms are easy to book, and the library has a nice airy feeling. The theater hosts many shows including a blues concert. There are many DVD’s and audiobooks on hand, and the selection is plentiful. The kids section has many play-spaces, and books. The areas are never that crowded and that is helpful with the two doors on each side. There is never a line for the self check-out and there are staff picks right there in the main lobby. This is definitely a good library if you are in the area.

Love Skokie Public Library!💕 Now that it's been renovated it's even more esthetically pleasing. The staff are welcoming and helpful. The teen section is awesome with study rooms, gaming area, and fun open spaces. The children's area has a new aquarium and open play areas. It has a fabulous collection of reads and DVDs. Once the library opens further in accordance to CDC guidelines it will be nice to see everyone enjoying the new courtyards. Love this place! 💕
