Signed me and my 6 year old son up for private swim lessons in June. First off they are texting back and forth instead of calling to communicate about the services. it took us a whole month to get scheduled for our lessons after paying. We finally got to our first lesson and it was so many people in the pool it was such a distraction to my son he couldn’t focus on the lesson. They should definitely have a time for only people with swim lessons to be in the pool. And today was supposed to be our last day we get there and the instructor isn’t there and claims he messaged the wrong person saying he wouldn’t be able to make it. They are so unprofessional and unorganized I do not recommend for swimming lessons.

I think the new Downtown YMCA is great. Great staff. Nice facility with a cool view of the Mississippi River. A very nice upgrade to our downtown.

Very nice building, but some of the staff not very nice.The older lady with the short hair very rude!!!!!.. I think she’s a manager. now let’s talk about the pool area. Lifeguard do not know how to talk to children. They sit on their chair, yelling and blowing a whistle no splashing no Playing… I get it safety first, but there’s a way you talk to children specially when they’re not yours.

For the most part a very nice place. Very nice people and great environment. The reason for 1 star is I specially got a membership to be able to swim and bring my daughter to swim. The pool is absolutely disgusting!! And it’s not just one occasion, it’s multiple. I’m talking band aids, wads of hair, floating mucus, stuff I don’t even know what it is. I am going to get a underwater camera to take pictures and post how disgusting this is. I have said something multiple times to different staff and lifeguards asking them to clean it or ask how often it is cleaned and no one seems to know. It’s just horrible. If they need someone to clean it for goodness sakes I’d do it!! Of course for a fee or maybe a free membership… I’ve been to a ton of public pools, resorts, other YMCAs and this place is the absolute worse.

Probably the most poorly run Y in the entire system. The pool and pool deck are disgustingly filthy. There are wads of hair and plastic floating in the pool and the pool deck is littered with random socks and band aids. The pool deck looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months. The family locker room is filthy. The extractors in the locker rooms are broken for months before being fixed. The hot tub works about 50% of the time. And, from time to time the family pool is closed due to a lack of chlorine. Weekend lifeguards show up when they want (45 minutes late) with no repercussions. Even with the chronic chlorine problems, management REFUSES to have maintenance on hand when they open at 5 am. This place needs competition!!!

I opened an account the end of sept. I changed my payment source and gave my acct/routing info on a stick it note for the director and was told everything ok. It’s now the end of October and I see a charge from the YMCA on old payment source. I call and ask what it’s for and I’m told in “collector” tone that I’ve missed payments and there’s late fees. I’m in the gym at least 4 times a week and from end of sept till Oct 20th no one at the YMCA has informed me any morning that I scan in that my account is not paid. I have been trying to contact the director for over a week and I have not heard a peep from them on their mistake. So what motivation I’ve had is gone because I’m not current and I’m not continuing going to a gym where I don’t agree with the charges. So now I’m thinking of joining Bettendorf YMCA because 4th st has terrible business practices

Here you have a supposedly not for profit organization that cares about kids and families however they exclude members from two Rivers YMCA Moline to use their membership at the Davenport ymca.

I had tried calling for a week and a half about child care/preschool for my daughter. There is only one person who can give you any information about the child care program. I called and called and never actually got to speak to him. I left voicemails asking him to call me back. He would call me back, about 4:30 every day and leave a voicemail. His last message stated he only had one opening left for my daughter's age group. I responded to say I was very interested. I never got a call back or another reach out. A week and a half later I finally got to speak with him just to find the opening had been filled. Horrible customer service. After this experience I would never actually trust YWCA with my child. Totally disappointed with the YWCA of Scott County.
