Visiting from out of town at sunrise with camera. Am always game to discover local critters especially marsh & wetland dwellers. Stayed a couple of hours. Only person on the trails. Pleased to find a bird hide, observation platforms and dock which gets you out from the shore. More pleased to find an American Mink & plenty of Eagles as well as all the regulars I’d expect to find. Will return with a macro lens when bugs are abundant.

If you love nature this is the place to go to see it! I've watched this place grow the last couple of years. Each year I come back there are more plants, animals and insects. It's cool.

Nahant Marsh has a wide variety of activities. The bird blind is a good place to see waterfowl. I have seen Blue Herons, Great Egrets, Wood Ducks, Green Winged teals, American Coots and other ducks. Of course you can see Canada Geese and Mallards. The hiking trails are easy. Depending on when you visit yo can see butterflies, dragon flies, grasshoppers and moths. There are also a wide variety of wild flowers. I have seen Bald Eagles and Osprey while walking by the dock. The Education Center has a nice variety of live animals to observe and the staff is friendly.

Beautifully maintained trails and bird watching stations through an awesome wetland. We too often ignore the beauty of these "swamps": full of birds, butterflies, flowers, turtle, etc.... The education center exhibits are fun and interesting inside and out.

The education center was closed when we stopped. But the hike on the property is AMAZING! A lot of nature that can be enjoyed by any age. It's a really easy hike with lots to look at. I love all the creative stations the center has around the grounds. Like the insect hotel! How clever! It's also cool because there is a trail that goes along the train yard and it was interesting to see our railroad from that perspective! Thank you to the team that put this together!!

Nahant Marsh is an outstanding community resource! Besides the all the conservation and research that occurs on the site, it’s a fabulous place to take a walk, enjoy nature, and learn more about nature. All of my kids have done their educational camps and workshops, and they always have a great time while learning something! I would highly recommend a visit!
