I trained here for almost six years. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. If you find another school I would recommend going to that school. If you are a woman, this school is about brotherhood and it shows in how they treat their female students. I was the highest ranked female student to come up through that school and I was kicked out today as a two stripe brown belt. It’s not worth the money or being treated as an outsider because you’re not a man. Best of luck to all of the friends and fellow students I met along the way!! I wish nothing but the best for them, but unfortunately Gracie Barra is not a place to foster growth or respect. Gracie Barra is about money and blind allegiance to the brotherhood. If that sounds like your type of place, you will fit in great! But be careful of the dirty mat and toilet. It may have been cleaned since I left but those pictures are three months worth of build up.

This is a great place to train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu! This school has knowledgeable instructors and a fantastic community. The atmosphere is a welcoming environment with an emphasis on learning over ego. Everyone here just trains and concentrates on making each other better, rather than competing with one another. I had trained BJJ at a variety of other places over the years, but once I came here I had no doubt I had found a home.

This is a great place to learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable, and they care about their students. I particularly enjoyed classes with Professor Roger Smith who is an excellent teacher! The facility is always clean, and the students are all very supportive. At Gracie Barra, you are part of a family of jiu-jitsu practitioners and not just a number. I highly recommend Gracie Barra to anyone looking to learn, train, and compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!

My daughter has been coming to Gracie Barra BJJ kid class for 10 months and she really loves it. BJJ is becoming a routine for us. Coaches are very professional and patient with kids. It's a good sports for kids. Not only kids can learn some self-defense techniques but also respect and disciplines.

After sitting on the bench watching the kids training for two years. I started training myself at GB four months ago. I enjoy the class, open matt and the good environment. Everybody in the academy is trying to get better and help you get better. I lost a lot of weight. Highly recommended.

So I've trained at gb Springfield for almost 5 plus years now...for me its had ups and downs yes...some days are better than others but it's also what you put into it as well. Every professor here has no issues answering questions breaking down techniques or explaining something specifically. Yes there are other places in the area and by all means not saying gb is better or worse but what I will say about gb is it really is a family environment. Personally it's the best around and I've made life long friends here that have kept me motivated and kept my training awesome. Very recommended to anyone
